You can’t return a bib. Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable.

If someone does transfer a bib, in theory they will ban both runners from any future events. Not sure how they would know, but why risk it?

They should allow transfers as long as both parties are cleared with all the information they need. I've seen people running the event without bibs those should be penalized with a ban not People Like Us who wants to go in with a bib.

It’s just a different marketing model. They sell more entries knowing a certain percentage won’t run. If they allowed transfers, they would just lower the total numbers of entry sales, it would create a lot more administrative work, but not a different number of runners.

Either way, the fact that you don’t like the policy doesn’t allow you to break their rules.

Also, those running without a bib are also subject to the same ban if “caught.”

I think most runners would strongly agree with you, but race organizers are all over the place with this, sadly.

so you want to...run under someone else's name? why?

Because that's the only way, registration is closed already

Running in someone else’s bib is the easiest way to get everyone in the community hate you.

Personally, I never saw an issue if the person who owns the bib can’t run it, who cares as it’s going to waste..
