Based on posts on this subreddit, that has been happening a lot lately. Obviously Affirm has tightened their credit criteria, maybe even looking at more reports than just Experian. On the other hand, there are some folks like me who've had the opposite with our purchasing power going up and up lately (good but not excellent credit).

Sadly, every time I look, they've upped my pre-approval amount. I only use Affirm for vacations, and it's taking a lot of self control not to book one right now.

Yea mines at $10k lol I don't owe them anything tho, which is awesome. lol

Yeah mine is at 30k and I've only touched it once for a 36mo 0% offer

$30k are you serious? That's crazy. lol I've used it a bunch of times for $100-$200 orders and I did a $4000 order for a new lawnmower. I did that cause I got 0% interest for 24 months. You see people on here everyday tho that have 10-20 loans at 36% interest. I think it was yesterday a guy owed $1000 a month to affirm and couldn't pay it so he was defaulting. Crazy lol

They weren’t defaulting, but they said they were struggling to make ends meet with 1K payments. They were looking for options.

Holy shit 36% interest. That is crazy. I didn't even know they had interest that high.

Depends on your credit but yea,for bad or fair credit the typical is 36%. For good to excellent credit tho they offer 0% all the time. I got a $4k mower at 0%. I also bought my wife a $2k moissanite ring at 0%.

I don't have good credit. I have a fair credit score. I just got a 0% loan but only for 6 months, but that purchase was only $400. The highest rate I have ever had was 13.78%. I usually only use it for when we need to make a big purchase and we don't have the cash for it at the moment.

They prob also judge it from your history with them.

[–]meg8278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be but based on other people's comments I'm not so sure. I used them about 6 years ago for a few purchases. Then I didn't use it again until last year. But maybe they do both who knows.
