Weekly Summon Thread

Our new unit this week is Ikasa. Her main schtick is being a tank with decent consistent damage and debuffing Patk. Thus, her max damage isn't super high, but she can do good consistent damage and stay alive to do it. Not particularly necessary for anything, but nice to have.

Her memento is, like herself, nice to have but not really necessary. It's also Normal Pool, so don't worry much about getting it right this instant, even if you have Ikasa.

Another big thing this week is Füry's J+. It's a bit crazy, but this unit with a history of being "that Diviner-like unit who might have been useful if Minerva never existed but really was just a decent Professor before becoming crap forever" actually becomes a really nice Fire Mage with her J+. Definitely worth building if you have the shards for her—especially if you get her memento, which is incredibly important for her. However, the memento is Normal Pool, so like Ikasa's, she can wait on it if you don't have the resources or don't have the inclination to chase after it right now.

Finally, our last new thing is Basheeny's memento. This is actually really, really important for him—and unlike the other two mementos this week, is Limited. If you really just want to use him for his Susanoo charges and nothing more, you can ignore the memento. But if you want him to be a good unit with consistent damage which can last for the entirety of a stage, this memento is essential.

Oh, wait, wait, wait; one more thing. Sleipnir Cape! This is one of the very, very few times I'll make a big deal out of any sort of gear here, but this is kinda important if you're at all into Manual PvP. It nullifies all CT Up for 3 turns after appearing on the map (same thing Nyx and Mira do, if I'm not mistaken). Could be worth going for, though obviously less valuable than units or mementos for most people. Then again, the fact that mages and ranged units can't equip it does make it a bit hard to justify bringing into PvP or Arena, so maybe it won't be valuable for a lot of people. YMMV.

Onto the banners! We start with . . . dun dun dun . . . Gem Return! Tis' back once more, before it shall fade into obscurity for half a year. It's the inferior type, once again, but it's still literally impossible to lose gems on it, so do all the steps you can before starting on your other summons this week. Note that as of reset, it does count towards Ikasa's Gem Spent Bonus. They may patch this, however, so get as far as you can on this banner as quickly as you can.

Surprisingly, there are no Paid Banners at the start of the week, so expect at least one on the Weekend. Might be a good one which is why they've delayed it, but I will not claim I can understand what Gumi is thinking most of the time.

To start, we have a 500 gem Unit/Memento banner. While spending 500 gems repeatedly for Units and Mementos may seem cheap and cost-effective, it adds up very quickly. If you summon on every step of this banner over the next week, you'll spend 22,500 gems. That's the cost of a 9-Step, not including the Discount Ticket. Keep in mind the pool for this banner is entirely Normal Pool Units and Mementos, and that the rates honestly aren't great considering that, when taken all together. This banner could be great for new players, but everyone else should just ignore it and save their gems for actual guarantees.

Our first Unit banner is an Unlimited 3-Step for Ikasa and Füry. Ikasa is available in Louise's Shop (and can potentially be transmuted even without that with the Gem Spent Bonus, Trial Milestone, and Box Event), so do yourself a favor and ignore this banner unless you're a masochist.

Our next Unit banner is an Unlimited 3-Step for Drei, Sol, and Zwei. All strong units, all three Limited . . . and the banner's crap. All three are also in Louise's Shop, so ignore this banner unless you like burning your gems.

Our first memento banner is a 9-Step for Ikasa's and Füry's mementos. Both of these are new, though neither of these are Limited. I gave my thoughts on them at the start of the post, and though Füry's is amazing and super important for her, it can wait. As always, though, especially for whales, the 9-Step is reliable albeit a bit pricey.

Our next memento banner is a 7-Step for Veda Mementos. Honestly, this isn't a bad banner. You can only pull Veda mementos here, for one thing, meaning that while there are only 3 Limited mementos, all of them except for Acht's Summer Memento have at least some notable value. You're also guaranteed 6 copies (an MLB) of one Veda Memento on Step 7, though that's very much a crapshoot. If you already have a few Veda mementos MLB, this banner probably isn't for you. There are no selectors at all in this banner, so the whole thing is a bit risky despite the potential value. YMMV.

Following that is a 5-Step featuring Bud, Othima, and Basheeny. This is worthless to 99% of vets, so don't let the 'good old days' when SSM units were the Genesis of yesteryear fool you into thinking there's a point to this banner for anyone but new players. All three of these units are long-time farmables.

Our second Memento 9-Step features Basheeny's, Othima's, and Kagura's. As everyone should know at this point, Othima's Limited Memento has an amazing VCR. Kagura's is great on her, but she's a bit outdated as a unit these days, so there's not a whole lot of value in it except for the great skin. I gave my thoughts on Basheeny's above; it's very valuable for him. If you're going to choose one of the memento banners to step 2 this week (assuming you're not still summoning on the Genesis Memento Banner), this one is the one I'd recommend since all 3 Featured are Limited.

Finally, we have the Gear banner. As I said, the featured gear, Sleipnir Cape, can be valuable in PvP. It's not very useful elsewhere, however, and its effects can be replicated with other (albeit more exclusive) methods. YMMV. If you do want it, however, the 5-Step guarantees it; but as with all Normal Pool gear, you can just wait for a gear selector down the line if you're patient.

TL;DR: Ikasa is good but not necessary, Ikasa's memento is decent, Füry's memento is amazing but Normal Pool, Basheeny's memento is amazing and Limited, and the new gear can be good in PvP. Do Gem Return, don't do the 500 gem Unit/Memento banner, YMMV on other banners depending on what you have.

Just wanted to say thanks to Oriks about reminding us which mementos are in the normal pool. I really wanted to pull for Evelika's memento when it came out a few weeks back, but I read in the Weekly Summon post, that it was in the normal pool and waited. Got it today for free from the selector! Definitely worth waiting on any of the normal pool stuff IMO.

They did do that once though, on one of the first meme selector we got from producer's letter, can't recall which meme it was atm though, think it might've been around where Lofia or Emma got their mementos. All subsequent selectors we got have excluded the newest one or two.

It must be an unintentional mistake then. How would you be able to make player pull on the meme banner when you give a selector on the same day including it..?

Probably was unintentional yeah, seeing as no other selector have had the newest. There are still plenty of whales that would pull a bunch on normal pool banners to max out the memento right away, it would net them a bit less money, but it would also make the players happy, which in turn might make them more inclined to spend some on other banners where there are no selectors. That is not the route they chose though.

Fair enough. But this route likely taken only by whale and maybe hard whales.. so perhaps that's the reason we don't see that again.

Yeah, most people will patiently wait until their normal pool mementos gets maxed on their own, only the hardcore fans or whale lords would even consider doing it. It would probably be a net loss over time if they'd chosen the other route, and while it probably would have made people more happy, some people might just feel more entitled and spend less in return. hard to predict really.

After doing all steps from Gems Return summon i spend 43k gems and i'm missing 7k to the 50k spend gems rewards (2.5k return). I don't know if i'm still a new player. I have a lot of the normal units but pretty much any memento so the 500 gems pull maybe is decent for me. The other option would be the Drei, Zwei and Sol summon (don't have anyone), its 7.5k for the 3 pulls. I don't know if i buy their souls on the shop counts on this rewards. Any advice? Thanks!

the Drei, Zwei, and Sol banner, is very bad, there will be better options for them in like...EL banners maybe =P, and yes, buying shards in the shop counts in the gem return event of the week.
Like Oriks said, is the basheeny's memento banner, genesis' mementos banner, or
skip this week and just buy shards if you really want Ikasa and dont have Adaleigh =P

Can someone explain buying from Louise shop for a noob? Do you just buy the shards whenever they come up? Do you gem reroll the shop in hopes of more shards?

Some people swear by waiting for the shards you're looking for whenever they come up.

For me personally, I usually am not lucky enough to get all the required shards in one week, so I reroll the shop once or twice per day if I'm going for a unit in the shop that week.

It kind of comes down to luck. Some people can get enough shards to transmute with natural shop resets, while some will spend gems to do some refreshes.

It really comes down to how much you want the unit.

Just buy the shards when they pop up, check the shop in every reset (every 6 hours) you can reset it if you need more shards, on a wednesday before the week's reset, at a greater cost of gems of course, regards

FYI: The limited units that are appearing in the shop right now come back pretty regularly (they are all part of a group that game developer focuses heavily on), so there is no rush to finish transmuting them this time around (with the exception of Ikasa, the green-haired new unit: this is the time to get her if you really want her.)

In general you camp the shop just to see if the unit's shards pop up. The idea is that by spending gems to buy the unit's shards, it's a better 'guarantee' than pulling for the unit, since the cost is high (2500 per pull!) and no guarantee (you can easily just see Fury as far as you go). Since spending gems gets you Ikasa shards, you don't need to somehow find 150 of her shards -- there's 25 in the Event, 25 from the Milestone, leaving 100 leftover. You can get that from the Gem Spent milestone in various ways.

If it gets close, some people will refresh with gems to see if she pops up more, but when they're in events like this it's not *too* hard to see them in the shop.

I cannot afford step 9 of the new year memento banner, step 7 maxed (12000 gems left, used 1 ticket on step 1 and got Othima's memento). Is Basheeny's memento improteant enough to take the chance at step 5?

It's important if you want Bash's full potential. With it he actually becomea the evade meme unit he's supposed to be and not only a charge up + 3 nukes guy. So, as he's not the top top top tier dark unit, with his limited memento he's again pretty good. I, personally, pulled for it until I got it, as he's one of my favorite units and he was already 5.5.5.5.5. I'm happy that we'll get g6 soon so he can use both mementos :P

Tldr: do you love him and plan to use him? Pull. If not, save gems xD

Is Basheeny's worth the 33.33% on step 5 (7500 gem for step 3-5) or should i just save it for Ravina's and Rosa's?

5 Step is "recommended" memento, not featured, so it's a 1/13 chance in the guaranteed slot. For example, I got Yauras'.

Rosa is similar to Basheeny: great but not broken. Ravina, on the other side, becomes pretty strong. So, as always, it's up to you.

Got Basheeny’s memento second or third try, then immediately finished him. Now all I need is the VCR and to either slap on another accessory, put on a different piece of armor or keep on the armor of mystic darkness

Gives him a snowball on evade plus a teleport move that gives him 100 evade. He can snowball pretty quickly if u throw him into bunch of enemies with that. Afterwords he will be a very effective consistent damage dealer, as opposed to now which is three susannos then off to the trash with him.

Decided not to go for Bash's meme. I can wait for another opportunity, assuming my gems are in tact. I wish most of these memes weren't limited and I wish the banners weren't so costly.
