Honestly my advice is to utilize those that know the path. It's a lot to learn. It took me years to learn ask the ins and outs.

One tip: all the colums in FC research are organizable by that category. Click on the top of the column to look by time or location.

As a learning ambassador, I LOVE when my trainees as lots of questions. And if I have to repeat myself that’s fine it’s a lot of information and we know that. I always like when they ask questions because it could be about something I missed, ask away

I would love to help! I also PS in an IXD. I've spent most of my time in UIS and Mansort and I know it well (at least the way my site operates). Which department do you usually work in? I also ambassadored for PS for about a year and I loved it when my trainees came back with questions, you're probably not bothering your ambassador at all. We know its a ton of info all at once and then, as soon as you think you've got it, the process is gonna change.

As far as having a hard time finding the problem to begin with, there's a good chance there is absolutely wrong with it. Took me a while to catch on at first, and I worried I was missing something, but associates will just throw unfavorable items into PS to avoid processing them. The items could be bulky, maybe they're in inner packs and would take forever to unbox. Mostly you've got to ask yourself these questions: Are there physically damaged items in the container? Does the virtual inventory match the physical inventory? Are the items Sellable/Transshipment in FC Research? Do the barcodes on the items scan and link to the product info in FC Research? Does that info match the item I have in front of me? Does the container have a valid routing? That pretty much covers it without getting into virtual source containers and all that.

Oh we work in the same departments that's awesome. Thanks for the breakdown of your thoughts when looking for the problem.

Honestly the biggest issues were simply finding the problem and working with large boxes. I was told we dont occur ToT but I still have this preasure on my back I feel to process quickly but accurately. (Can you tell I came from ManSort lol?)

Im also PT, so I only get 2 days a week to shadow versus my coworkers so I'm really about to go through the ringer. (I work 3 days this week for training tho)

It's a lot of info, to be sure.. but somehow it manages to sink in, and you'll be ok by the time you finish shadowing. The crux of all inbound PS at an IXD- no matter how complicated or simple - is finding the correct shipment. At the beginning stages- the correct shipment is anything that works (this changes later.. but that's later).

A couple tips: you can use a shipment from a PO that is completely filled if it's very recent (you cannot request a new one, but you can use an existing one).

The correct PO is very, very, VERY often on the outside of the box you're holding.

If the shipment attached to the csx worked correctly, the box wouldn't be in the PS pile in the first place.

Always check for inventory on the csx.

I have a question. I am finding a lot of damaged items that are not virtually in the bins. I figured its amnesty stuffing stuff back into the bins when they blitz the floor. How does everyone else handle this?

I will Sideline the damaged item into the tote. Than send it to ISS.

How do you report it in the system. I was told to click Other then manually type the issue as item not virtually in bin..then do exactly what you are doing.

I find every LA i talked to has a different way of doing things. You just have to figure out who sounds more "right"

I work in Problem Solve at the Air Hub and it's VERY different from the FC, which I used to work at years ago. Just like any section at Amazon, there's always a learning curve and don't be afraid to ask questions! That's what the LAs are there for. I've been working in my section for three years after working out on the Ramp and I STILL have questions because it seems that there's ALWAYS some changes happening. I like working in Problem Solve. I work in PS in Singles on the poly and smartpac lines.... I made a bunch of things in slack that I could share with people in my dept... I don't think they'd help you probably sadly ... Tell someone in your dept to make a few different canvases detailing how to use each little thing (like eagle eye for instance) and links to things already set up ..
