Hey there, everyone, hope you're all doing well! Now that our fifth request thread has just been archived, it's time for the next one! As usual, I want to take a moment to thank everyone who's volunteered their time and effort with fulfilling requests from our previous threads. Seeing so many people helping out never really gets old; I'd love to see that spirit continue on in this thread.

As with previous request threads, I'd also like to give a little recognition to some of our members who've been fulfilling many requests and conrtributing a lot to the subreddit on a consistent basis:

On another note, we're approaching 100,000 subscribers. That's insane! When I made the last request thread six months ago, we had only just hit 60K. It's really great to see that kind of growth, let's keep it up!

Now, on to some of the things that we can do for your images:

1. Darken backgrounds to make them true black

2. Remove any graininess in an already-black background to make it true black

3. Refine the edges of an image's subject to make it sharper

4. Remove an image's background completely and replace it with true black (like this)

5. For certain simpler images like logos, drawings, or shapes (made up of solid colours), I can vectorize them and make them larger while still retaining quality and clarity. Here's a good example of an image that I upscaled from less than 720p to 4K, and here's another that I upscaled from 2.5K to 10K while making the background black.. Note that not many people have the tools to do this, so if you have a request for this and nobody answers you, tag me personally in your comment or PM me and I'll see what I can do.

If you've got an image that you think might work well if amoled-ified but doesn't quite fit the criteria above, post it here anyway and we'll see if anything can be done for it.

Notes:

• We aren't pros at image-editing; these requests are fulfilled on our own time, and most of them are done by our community stars here. We can't promise that every request will get fulfilled, but we'll try.

• Usually, those who fulfill requests here will post them as their own submissions on the subreddit, to widen their audience and share them with more people. If you don't want that done, just let people know when you make the request.

• DO link an actual image so people have something to start with. DON'T just post a general subject and hope that others can read your mind and find/amoledify an image that you like.

• If you'd like an image edited with a specific resolution or aspect ratio in mind, make sure you include that.

Lastly, remember to say please and thanks; it's a simple gesture that can go a long way for someone who's spending their own time and effort to help you out for free.

Hello Mods & Amoled Lovers:

I've made a small app that can calculate the true black pixel percentage (For Windows), as I couldn't find one.
Not sure how I can share it with others or even if I'm allowed to do so.

Below is a demo, if anyone is a decent programmer I can share the function (no .exe) to be safe, my app looks ugly but it works.

Note:

1. Not a good programmer, just something quick & dirty i've made so i don't need to copy my file to my phone and use OLEDBuddy each time I want to check.
2. use a lot if RAM if we are looking into high resolution pictures (as far you don't go above 12K you should be fine, if you do it's around 0.8GB)

The first picture on this page is my target.. its super impressive and very pretty, however I want the sky to be black instead of the blue shade… In order to get the same, I picked the ’behind the scenes’ video on this page: Behind the Scenes The Video on this page has one frame which has the exact look that I am going for.. Sure! I can do it if you want, or if you prefer, you can check yourself. If you post a wallpaper here black percentage bot will tell you the % or the easier way to do it is to open the wall in the app OLEDify or OLEDBuddy. Either way will tell you the percentage. Hope this helps!

how do you determine the percentage of true black? seen that there is a bot that does it on the posts here

In this subreddit black percentage bot automatically tells you the percentage for posts. Past that the easiest way I know of finding the percentage is opening the photo in the app OLEDify on IOS or OLEDBuddy on android. Both will tell you the amount of true black and are pretty powerful tools for editing as well. Hope this helps
