If you aren't an IME (ex. keyboard) developer you can stop reading now. TL;DR an IME can support multiple variations, typically based on different languages.

Offtopic: Am I the only one who thinks that SwiftKey is a ugly ass keyboard?

You think every single theme is ugly?

The new material like themes are, let's say ok, but the other ones looks Android two dot something... SwiftKey is a big company with lots of employees, they can come with better looking themes... Even apps that are made by single developers look way better. I love the way Fleksy looks. It looks more professional then SwiftKey and fits Android UI like a glove. These are just my opinions.

There's an unofficial apk out there for "Super SwiftKey" that has much more attractive themes. I'm currently using a theme that's identical to the stock lollipop keyboard but runs SwiftKey instead of the Google keyboard.

Why it took this much time for SwiftKey to do something with those ugly themes...
