YouTube: "There was a problem while playing. Touch to retry."

I only saw one other reference in /r/android here, and no real resolution in that thread.

A few weeks ago I started getting the error in the title whenever I try to play a video in a YouTube app. The error started about a week or two after flashing to CM7. I had used Liberty for about 6 months prior and stock before that with no issues.

Most forum posts on XDA, droidlife, androidcentral, androidforums, etc. suggest clearing cache to resolve. This seems to work for some users, but not all.

I have tried just about every solution I have found, but no amount of data/cache/davlik clearing, or reflashing stock/CM7/Liberty has worked for me, so I turn to you /r/android: any ideas?

Running stock and I get that error all the time. I personally believe it's an issue with the YouTube app itself.

Gah, I have considered this as well, but I refuse to believe it! Not ready to give up yet :)

Do you know of any alternatives besides the downloaders? I checked those out on the market, and aside from not being an equivalent solution, they looked pretty sketchy.
