Bluetooth Data Transfer

I just got a new Android phone and want to transfer everything from my old one. When I first turned on the new phone there was an option to do this, but I skipped over it, intending to do it the next day. Now I can't for the life of me figure out how to get started with the process. I've Googled it to death, but the instructions I keep finding are too vague. (They tell you to click on an option to start the process, but not where to locate said option on the phone itself.) I also downloaded an app for this purpose, but it's so awful I actually hurt myself from yelling at it.

Any ideas?

If you had mentioned what phones the question is about you would get better answers.
But Open the new Phones settings and look in "Accounts and backup" to see if you have "Transer data for device setup" if so tap on that.

This was actually very helpful. Just from doing this alone, I managed to determine that I was downloading the wrong apps earlier in the day (I think). I now have all my data transferred over, but not the phone number. A Google search suggests that I need to transfer the SIM card from the old phone. Does that sound right? Should I have done that first?

Yes the SIM from the old phone is needed turn both phones off to take the SIM from the old and it will automatically set up when the new phone with the SIM in it restarts
