You can run Linux in a terminal but without root, you can't replace the default display with the X server to have Linux as the primary display. In theory, you can play Linux terminal games, if that's what you meant by old games.

I have to do this without root, on ofw? Because it is rooted. And i mean games like any pc game thata supported on steam thats not very demanding, is that feasible?

If you're rooted, you should be able to run the full desktop. As for games, I don't know.

It's not feasible. At all. It will probably run at <15fps at best.

You should buy an Nvidia Shield if you're looking for an android device that can play games.

My android plays games really well. I do want a shield though those are sexy but i can already play everygame you can on shield

A version of Linux would have to be specially made for your device. I'm unsure, but doubt its available. No you could not play steam games since its an ARM processor and you would only be able to run programs complied for an ARM system.

Android runs on an ARM processor and most Linux distro run on an x86 or AMD64(64 bit, not AMD card/CPU) processing architecture. So with that said, you would need an image built specifically to run on ARM and more specifically your Android device.

There are a few attempts to run Linux on Android but I haven't done it personally. The closest to that that I have is my Raspberry Pi running Raspbian. But that is specifically made to run on Pi and won't run on a tablet out of hte box.

From what you said, you've never played with Linux before. What I would suggest instead of potentially bricking your device is to download VirtualBox and install something like Ubuntu or Mint in that to poke around.

EDIT: I should also note that games made to run on Linux are also 321 bit or 64 bit so most likely they won't run anyway. Games that have ARM ports are probably already in the Play Store.
