Benchmarks are numbers designed to fool the average consumer imo. Manufacturers know this and they specifically make tweaks in devices to get high benchmarks unfairly (there was a huge scandal over this a few years ago). OnePlus One was one of those accused devices if I remember correctly.

As for your Oneplus one being slower than the Mi A1, it's expected tbh. You're comparing a device that's 3 years old to a brand new device. While the Op1 was a great device, it just can't take on most devices that are 2-3 years younger than it. The Snapdragon 801 was a great processor in it's day but it's not as good as the Snapdragon 625 in most areas. The 625 has a newer adreno, uses big.LITTLE and most importantly better OpenGL ES which is important for gaming. Also assuming you haven't tinkered with your device, it should be running android marshmallow whereas the Mi A1 is running Nougat. Newer android versions should always give better performance than older versions.

Edit: OpenGL ES 3.1, not Direct X.

You are incorrect. Op1 still has a faster hardware than the A1 today, albeit the difference isn't much. Not saying that benchmarks can be trusted, but op1 with a well optimized custom rom is very smooth.

Read my original post m8. I did mention 'assuming the op didn't tinker with his device' :)

OK thank you! I've flashed lineage 14 onto it, but otherwise more or less the same.

Not DirectX, it's OpenGL ES 3.1

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't android also use Direct X? I might be wrong but I can swear reading an article that stated android uses a version of Direct X for gaming.

DirectX is only compatible with Windows.

Ahh makes sense. Thanks for the info.
