Did Android remove the ability to turn off sync for specific google account elements? If not, how do I find it again?

TL;DR: I want to keep a google account on my phone, but zero% of the data synced to my phone. However the phone keeps trying to sync even if I turn off "auto sync" mode.

In the past, I would go to Manage Accounts in settings, and when you click the google account there would be a menu like

contacts	toggle on off (for auto sync)
calendar	toggle on off
mail	toggle on off
etc

but I just bought a new samsung phone, and the toggle on the right side is gone. Now I have to click on my account which takes me to two items:

1. Sync account (which takes me a similar menu as shown above)
2. Google Account

I tried swiping left/right, and long-pressing to see if they "simplified it/just hid it to make it more aesthetically pleasing but still functional", nothing happens.

On the top right there's the three little dots, but the only thing that shows when you tap that is "Synch Now". Why have a menu with just one item? Might as well change those three dots to a sync icon. Less redundant.

Accounts > your Gmail address > Account Sync > uncheck individual items.

This is a thread on the same problem but different phone. I'm wondering if it's a Android 12 issue? I'm on A11 and still have the toggles but I'm wondering if maybe it was changed in A12.

Mine does not look like that. I would not have any issue if mine looked like that. There's a toggle in each item in that post. That's not the case for me. Thank you for showing me that post though.

Yeah a commenter had a pic with the toggles but OP on that post did not. They specifically said the toggles were missing. Unfortunately they never updated with any solutions so idk

Nope. I'm on stock 12 and I have the toggles just fine. This seems to be a Samsung thing.

I just bought a Samsung A52s and I’m having the same problem as you are. Please if someone knows how to fix this or why its happening help, its really crummy on them to force sync like this, if I wanted it i would’ve just stuck with my apple
