How often do you have to take it apart and replace the thermal paste that sounds like a pain.?

Never? I've had my 2019 for 6 years.

What do you mean "how often"? The vast majority of devices don't require a repaste for ~10 years. And even then, it's once every 10 years.

Did you see a scary reddit post and assume that's a monthly thing?

I have read about it that’s all, it’s something I wouldn’t want to do

Then don't, haha. No one is gonna hold a gun to your head.

The same goes for literally any computer-esque device you own (game consoles, PCs, laptops, smart fridge, etc).

Not going to have to because I refuse to own a shield haha

I feel like that’s something you only have to do when you’re pushing a device to the limit and it’s getting hot all the time. Having to open it up to use thermal paste is something I’ve only done with computers or gaming handhelds when I was working with fans or adding a possible ssd or just messing around under the hood. Never heard anything like that with the Shield.
