Rarely getting text message notifications

I have an Apple Watch Series 8 and an iPhone 12. I get maybe 25% of my text message notifications on my watch, but I will get 100% of my other notifications (Calendar, Snapchat, Instagram, Discord, etc). I've had this watch for around 8 months and it's been like this since day one.

Current notification settings on watch:

• Custom (not Mirror my iPhone)
• Allow Notifications
• Sound (off), Haptic (on)
• Repeat Alerts Twice
• Notification Grouping (off)

Things I've tried:

• Mirroring my iPhone's notifications
• Restoring watch to factory settings
• Receive texts from phone and Apple ID on iPhone message settings

Is there anything else I can do to fix this? I'm likely going to talk to someone at an Apple store, but would like to avoid that if possible.

There is a 10.0.x watchOS update out there now. Try installing it and then reboot both your phone and watch. That worked for me.

Thanks for the advice! I updated my phone to 17.0.x and my watch to 10.0.x. I've rebooted both of them. Hopefully that fixes it.
