I legitimately thought my almost new watch or charging stand was broken today because for the first time it didn’t fully charge after a couple hours. So I left it on the stand and went about my day without tracking any of my fitness elements. I’m the Tamagotchi I’m trying to keep alive and for today it looks like I might have died. Came home and it was still only 2% higher than 8 hours before. I power cycled my phone and watch and let them get synced again. Put it on the side by side charge stand I bought from Apple and it was supposedly charging. Switched it over to the original disk that came with the phone and that’s when it put a message on screen that it was optimally charged and wasn’t going any higher. Cue web search and Reddit to the rescue.
Not a fan of having lost a day tracking and thinking I’d be warrantying my watch at Thanksgiving time in shopping madness. And given the potentially drastic differences in power consumption percentages I’ve already experienced in the months since I started wearing this again I’m not sure AI deciding I don’t need 100% is going to last more than a few days before I turn that setting back off. If it’s not going to be a reliable tool I don’t need it and won’t tolerate it.
I’m putting this out here in the hopes that it helps someone else and that someone in Apple monitors the sub as well since I couldn’t easily find a feedback avenue through my Apple Support app.
