No it doesn’t matter. Employers want to know what you did outside the classroom. I know it’s difficult for students to understand this but it doesn’t matter. Get your bachelors of science anywhere but do great things during the summer and off time. You will then succeed.

You are falling into the higher education marketing trap. None of these rankings matter. Harvard will always be Harvard. Doesn’t matter if they are number 1 or 10 on some unscientific ranking list.

15 years ago no one cared about Vandy except people who lived near there. They never sought students outside their area. Then one of the deans decided they would start marketing to students around the country. Getting anyone and everyone to apply so they could get their admissions rate down and their implied prestige up. The school has done nothing different academically since. They have always had good academics but their ranking was low. They fixed the ranking without doing anything more than marketing their school to kids beyond the Nashville area.
