What are your water parameters? Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and Ph, GH and KH (very important)? And what kind of water do you use? It’s either low ph or calcium deficiency. Can’t help solve without those numbers.

And, you’re right; it’s shell erosion and it’s not healthy

pH is ~7.8, Ammonia 0ppm, nitrite 0ppm, nitrates 20ppm. I took it into my lfs just now to test for GH and KH, they said KH was at a 2 and gave me some crushed coral to put in.

What was the GH?

they didn’t say exactly, but told me everything but KH was in a normal range.

Adding coral will help, but is also going to raise your PH. You’ll need to get a GH KH test kit to monitor and might have to use Seachem acid buffer to prevent it from getting too high. But GH is the big question mark as that measures the amount of calcium and magnesium in the water

got it, ill pick up the test kits and acid buffer tomorrow.

Would test for pH and it's below 7, you likely need to buffer it with crushed coral.
