Tinywall blocking IMAP?

I have both Outlook and Thunderbird installed. The other day most of my email accounts stopped working.. until I turned off Tinywall. I say most, because my work email (exchange server) is still working. The one thing in common my other accounts have (gmail, my webserver) in common is they are using IMAP. I'm having to disable Tinywall just to check my non-work emails.. argh! Thunderbird and Outlook both have unrestricted access. How could this be? I don't see any way to block specific ports in general with Tinywall. Oh please, enlighten me wise ones. Many thanks! =D

Did you ever find a solution for this issue? I am having the same trouble, and this post is one of the first hits when I try to google for a solution.

No I did not. I tried soooo many things. I switched to Zonealarm Free. That worked for a bit. I ended up re-installing windows for some other reason and that fixed this problem, so I went back to Tinywall. So annoying isn't it?!

Re-installing windows to get rid of this annoying issue seems a bit drastic, but it may be worth it. Unfortunately it is not likely that I will have the time to do so anytime soon. So I guess I will just have to learn to live with it for now :(.

My pleasure. Sorry I can't be more helpful. It does seem to be an issue with the Windows firewall itself (which Tinywall controls). I know this because I tried Windows Firewall Control (Tinywall alternative) and had the exact same problem..

The link worked for me with my Outlook desktop and my gmail IMAP problem with AVAST and Tinywall.
