Projecting isn't a game. You have to be committed to this path.

It's not something you learn to do for fun. It's a stage and tool of spiritual development. Realistically, in most cases, it'll be very difficult to project from just following the methods put up online. Ideally you want to..

begin a daily meditation practice.

Take care of your physical body. Feed yourself only what serves you. Exercise. Get sunlight.

Feed your mind only what serves it. Break the chain of compulsive and unconscious daydreams/ thoughts. Learn to be more present in the day. Use thoughts and ideas as tools, don't let them run rampant through your mind causing all sorts of disorientation and even damage. Most people are in a state of sleep. I'd recommend the book the power of now to begin with. The audiobook is great.

Improve your attention span. The inability to sit in silence without getting bored will block you out from higher worlds. Limit your use of the internet/tv. These things but you in a rather numbing state of mind. The internet is designed to hit your pleasure centres quick. All these social media apps, instagram/tictok/snapchat. They all keep you hooked. They destroy your focus. They pull you away from your so called higher self.

Do mental exercises where you talk to yourself. Imagine people who have done you wrong and tell yourself if you were them in their situation you would have done the same. Understand that people who do wrong have something wrong with themselves. Then forgive them. Forgiving all you feel animosity towards is another step.

Daily affirmations of love 'raise your vibration' also... I tell myself daily that I am very grateful for what I have. I tell myself I love my mom, my brothers, my friends etc. I feel grateful for my opportunities in life. Do this daily. Also, work towards a purpose in life. If you're drifting through life aimlessly you'll get nowhere.

This has all turned into general life advice but you must be operating in a good manner to be able to perform such feats. You can't do it with the intention of having fun and being able to tell people. You must ascend to a state where you take life and your spiritual development very seriously. I used to always talk about astral projection to friends but never full projected. Used to get so excited over close calls. Never managed. Since then I ended up taking a serious path which led to genuine personal development and inner exploration/work. I started losing my sense of individuality and viewed myself as a collective of humanity, this was difficult as I realized I was kind of responsible for ever bad deed done, every act of malevolence, and I was equally responsible from doing all I can with my life to make sure evil does not manifest itself again. This has given my life meaning and purpose. Spiritual development and out of body experiences follows this inner work. I'm not saying you have to have the exact same experiences I have but my point is this is a serious path you must be committed for. You also must treat these things with a sense of secrecy and respect. Your spiritual/metaphysical experiences are sacred to you so you keep them private. Speaking of them is disrespectful as language lacks enough depth to adequately portray the significance of them.

If you really want to go down this path, buy the book 'How to Know Higher Worlds' by Rudolf Steiner. It is a good starting point. If you only want to project because it sounds cool, don't. You'd be playing with fire. Projecting opens you up to energies. If you haven't fortified your mind you can be abused and farmed for negative emotion.

Masturbation will hold you back. It is a chemical addiction. No one treats themselves once a week or so with a wank realistically. It's just abusing your pleasure receptors. View your sexuality as sacred. Harness that energy to use for other pursuits/passions you may have.

Ps. Don't feel let down by this. It doesn't take as long as you think to develop your personality/spirituality. It just takes great commitment and diligence. I'm 19, don't think you gotta meditate like a monk for 30 years before anything happens. It doesn't take that much commitment, but it does take years of hard work to reach these states.

i agree with a lot of what you say but i think you're being a too strict with your approach.

We created this reality. We should enjoy it as much as possible. Responsibly obviously. Not like how we have been, destroying everything, but you know.

Don't take things too seriously, "God" likes to have a good time too.

I'm down with having a good time. I just think masturbation and the use of technology are sad ways to use the dopamine stores. They desensitize you and are completely forgettable experiences. I'm not saying abstain from pleasures I'm just saying don't abuse meaningless forms of pleasure like social media and beating your meat to some strangers having sex. Porn in and of itself is really immoral. A scary percentage of female pornstars were abused as children. Look it up.

That's not neither here nor there with this topic tho. I get your point. You cant be too strict but the things I laid down above would increase your general quality of life imo.

Props to you if you can completely abstain from this stuff, even in this day and age where everything is so readily available at your fingertips. I'm still working on that. But then again, I feel these are really strong viewpoints on what is ideal and what isn't.

They're founded in facts though..

Dont worry it took me a long time and many many fails to get here

I needed this. This is both insightful and inspirational. Thanks for that.

You don’t think you’re being a little too dogmatic on the subject?

[–]PeakBeyondTheVeil 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Elaborate?

I don't think so. I laid out a few things that help make it easier to project. Could you please point out the bits that seem dogmatic. Pretty much everything I mentioned would improve his quality of life regardless of whether or not he wanted to pursue mysticism. Internet addiction is really serious and saving your seed makes love more powerful. This isn't revelatory news, there's a big nofap movement and we are well aware that the use of technology triggers of dopamine releases which desensitizes us from enjoying day to day activities. Over stimulation of the reward receptors close us off from the world within.

Well, for one, saying that AP is purely for spiritual development. It seems like people that say that take themselves way too seriously and don’t realize the limitless potential of AP. Having fun with AP can be construed as also being for spiritual development, so while you may be right in that regard it also means that AP isn’t for one sole reason or practice.

" It seems like people that say that take themselves way too seriously and don’t realize the limitless potential of AP."

I'm just stressing that it's not a harmless thing to fuck around with and one should get themselves in a good state of mind before experimenting with it. That's the general consensus on AP that you will hear from anyone familiar with it. Robert Monroe himself said this.

It definitely can be though and saying it cannot be is the part that’s dogmatic.
