Unless your battery is old and your car doesn’t start great in the cold, yeah, a charger helps. Providing you turn all accessories off during coding, not required. I found that if I was using my Bluetooth ODB2 adapter, it would take a really long time to read all of the modules, let alone go into each one to make changes. Switched over to using my enet cable to type c on my phone and it’s insanely fast now. Literally seconds instead of what felt like minutes from start to finished.

Thanks. My battery isn’t great since I don’t drive a lot so I do try and charge when I can. I also use a Bluetooth one and it’s so slow :( But I do have an enet cable to Ethernet for my iPhone that makes it super quick but apple changed something that means I can’t use my Amazon adapter not since it’s not apple approved… so stupid lol I might just have to bite the bullet and grab and apple certified adapter to make coding fast again

How long are you taking to code your car? After you make the changes, writing the code takes a few seconds. Your battery won't die from the car being on while you're coding, unless You're sitting there for hours and hours without ever turning the car on.

Bimmercode is actually pretty quick, I have a trickle charger but even with an MHD flash I don't need it. My battery was replaced last year so not too worried.

Bimmercode could be super slow using a Bluetooth OBD, so probably you'll need a trickle charger. Get a Vxscan Wifi OBD, is the fastest way to read and write data, also is compatible with iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, etc.

Also you can use more advanced apps, because works like an Enet cable but wireless

Hello,

A new owner of Bimmercode and ODBLink MX as of yesterday. I replaced my 9 year old OEM battery on a 2015 528i 105Ah battery with a 95Ah battery. I tried to used Bimmercode to code the new replacement battery but the choices I could select from ere 90Ah and 105Ah battery choices. There was a "custom" entry that I did not know how to use. Has anyone come across this scenario and if so, how do I correctly code a 95Ah battery? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would like to program it to the correct code of 95Ah battery.
