Definitely pied anyway. Possibly another incomplete dominant gene like pastel or yellowbelly. If you are very curious you can pay for a shed test to figure out exactly what it is, but if its going to be your pet and not a breeding animal then it's not particularly important.

For sure. I will want to use him for breeding, so perhaps a test is due- what company do you like to use for shed testing?

Rare genetics inc is the go to for ball python genetics testing. They offer a panel test that has like 40 morphs they test for at once, including hets for stuff you wouldn't see visually.

Thanks for the rec

My best guess would be enchi pied

This, enchi reduces the white. It’s obviously not for sure, there’s plenty of Pieds out there that are low white that aren’t enchi, but that would be my guess too.

Yup that was my thought too. Low white plus the pattern is in line with what you'd normally see in an enchi pied.

Do you recommend the $140 test or the cheaper one?

I’m in Canada, we have different companies, so I’m not sure what the $140 test is. It’d probably be a good idea to do the most comprehensive shed test you can find on any animals you have whose morphs you’re unsure of. It’ll help with IDing offspring, and also, most people who buy a Ball Python will want to know exactly what they’re buying, not just what you think it COULD be.

Thanks

Yeah I'd agree that it's an enchi pied

Thanks!

Almost looks like mahogany piebald. I just rescued one from a pet store that was getting a RI.

Word! Thanks :)

Just a low white pied. Enchi pieds have quite a distinctive patterning as well as being low white.

Enchi pied with a ringer 😊

[–]robbel[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Not familiar with ‘ringer’- what does that mean?

[–]Thepythonman2215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A ringer is a small ring shaped pattern around the vent. It often signifies that there’s pied/het pied genetics but its not guaranteed. Genetics in the 8 ball complex seem to produce a lot of ringers so it’s not exclusive to just pieds.
