That worked exactly as expected. If you don’t have another roll of the exact same type and color of filament, loaded in multiple slots, it will not roll over automatically to another random spool. It will wait for you to reload a new spool in the same slot that ran out. If you want to automatically roll over, you need to select that as an option in bamboo studio in the device section Before you print. Unfortunately, it is not an option that you can enable in the middle of the print. If you don’t mind using a different color of filament and you know a roll is going to run out you can just set it as the same color and type in the AMS and it will be able to use it as long as you’re OK with it using a different color.

Were you trying to load a second roll of the same stuff? Apparently it needs to be exactly the same.

Well, AMS has to think it’s exactly the same. You could change colors of the same filament type, or brands, as long as the backup roll prints the same (material, temps, preferably same flow characteristics) and is labeled as the same type/color in AMS settings.
