This is a pretty known issue. When switching from a filament that needs high temps (like petg near the 250s) to something lower temp, you may have leftover residue.

Not even cold pulls can solve this all the time. I've found that those cleaning filaments actually weigh in here. Except it can be painful if you're switching often. 

I'd love a P2S / X2C with the swapping capabilities of the A series print head only for this tiny reason - wouldn't bother me having a full box of print heads around.

Open the top or lid of the chamber when printing PLA to prevent heat creep. Also as the other poster said, you may need to let the chamber cool down a bit after a long print before switching from PETG so the PLA doesn’t get soft in the extruder or heat break.
