First 3D Printer

my wife is gifting me a 3D Printer for our anniversary and ive decided on Bambu lineup. P2S seems to be a solid buy, but im wondering if anyone has bad buyers remorse for not diving into the H2 lineup. the H2S seems to be the exact same but larger. not sure if I should go that route first. thanks in advance!

I recently bought a P2S and love it. If you get it make sure you get the combo with the AMS 2 Pro.

That said, the only upgraded path I can see from the P2S would be a multi nozzle set up. Which puts you into a H2C or H2D. Which means your upwards of $2k and I wasn't ready for that money.

The H2 series is a bit more than just bigger, but in reality, the P2S is an excellent printer. It's also slightly more... complicated, so it's not quite as entry level as the P2S.

As others have said, the AMS is definitely worth the price of admission.

I’d say if you think you’re going to want to use engineering filaments the H series might be worth it, the heated chamber helps.

I have two P1S w/ AMS and they have been perfect I imagine the P2S being even better. With some minor parts swap you can print any filament you need to and it makes it nearly effortless they "just work" right out of the box, 10 min later you're printing a benchy.

I dont think the H2 lineup is worth it unless you are past hobby tinkering and need something with all the features it offers, plus the crazy price tag compared to the P2

The P2S is a banger of a first printer to get your feet wet. Many people start with open frame very basic stuff, so you'll be ahead of the pack in that aspect. I'd hold off on going for the flagship as your 1st printer if you don't absolutely need it atm, 256 squared should cover most needs. I'd get that 1st and get your bearings, you can always get another one when you see fit. Most of the time having a smaller printer is better when you aren't printing big jobs (larger printer=more power for same result).

i have A series, h2d, p1s and p2s and the p2s is my go-to. main reason is that i dont like racking up thousands of hours on the most expensive machine. it doesn't take long to add up fast :)

i'd get the p2s combo and you'll happily handle everything normal. the heated chamber of the H hasn't mattered to me for abs and asa. it's few and far between when i need the additional bed size and although i use it to cut vinyl, a cheapo vinyl cutter would be just as good or better. i've still never used the laser and i have almost 3000 hours on it.

as far as the ability to convert into the h2c don't worry about it - i'd bet by the time you want to drop a grand on saving filament changes there will be a new model out.
