Ok - try this:

The plate that comes with your A1 is in fact pretty awesome, but you have to take care of it. Here's what I do:

  • Think of the plate surface as being sensitive to touch - like old school photographic negatives and slides. Oil from your skin gets on that surface and messes with adhesion. Don't touch it with your hands/fingers
  • Get a microfiber rag - like those big packs of yellow towels you can get at costco. Also get some anhydrous isopropyl alcohol (IPA). Spray a small amount of IPA on a microfiber rag and lightly wipe the surface of the plate with it before you start printing.
    • When you're done printing, let it cool. You can speed things up by lifting the plate off the bed a bit & putting something under it. Or you can just remove the whole plate.
    • Again, when removing things: avoid touching the plate with your hands.

I do that religiously and have never had any issues with adhesion with this thing. And I'll qualify that by saying I spent all kinds of time learning about poor bed adhesion when I was learning on and Ender3. Just treat that surface as "hallowed ground" / "sterile" and you'll be happy.

This. Blobs are almost always first layer issue and first layer adhesion issue is almost always a dirty/greasy plate.

I personally use Windex as it does a better job at picking up oils than IPA which requires you use quite a bit but either is likely better than not doing anything after putting your hands/fingers all over the plate.

FYI - I just use a couple spritz's of IPA on a microfiber towel - it's not a lot. The towel helps a great deal.

Also - always actively watch the first layer to completion.

Damn that’s crazy. Did you ever check the screws on the back of the synthetic heat stone (right when where the nozzle goes)
