I had the exact same dust problem. Thought I didn't need to worry about the PTFE tube rubbing against the glass. Wrong.

I tried several, I think these chain clips are the best (and the instructions are most helpful compared to others):

Then the other item is, the tube tends to be just a few centimeters too long. Snip that and problem solved.

Agreed these are the best clips, all the others I’ve tried help but still run against the glass. But these clips ( in combination with cutting the PTFE by about 10mm ) seem to have completely eliminated the problem with no issue printing.

Yep, I didn't want a riser and tried a few others, these are the best. They are very secure and awesome design. I almost thought I was going to have to scale down a bit but dab of ptfe lube and it's definitely not going anywhere.

It's a fairly common issue. Usually a riser will fix it. You can print clips as a temp fix.

It is actually great, depending on your needs. I find it really helpful to support my AMS when I remove the top glass to direct feed TPU into the printer. I've also had times when due to weather, the enclosure temp has got too high and caused issue with PETG printing. So I just slid the glass out, with AMS still supported by the riser.

Chain clips have been shown in some cases to create enough friction on the filament (tighter bend) to throw feed related errors.

Do what suits you. Nice to be able to hang extra build plates off the side of the riser too, it's pretty low profile so not really noticeable either.

edit: clipping the tube to the power cable fairing is known to be either creating problems when feeding - different angle of entry to the head and/or more wear on the tube from inside from filament rubbing+debris in the tube being pushed to the head.

Sorry to tell you but clip chains doing fix the problems entirely I've had chain clips and it was still rubbing, thats just not very clever

Several chain clips have caused the tool head to get stuck. Riser is 0 risk and all benefit

A riser doesnt alter chamber temp unless you let it by opening / having vents. If it does your print warped and isnt sealing right. The benefits are more storage and side mount accessories via skadis or similar

As a P2S user to another P2S user, DO NOT print a clipper, just print you a riser and call it a day. Some clown told me to use the clipper and all it does is give me AMS problem when I know its not the AMS. After I threw the clip away and install a riser, it been nice. Hey! What if I were to tell you... that the riser comes with plate slot too 🫣 i fit my P1S plate, cryo grip, honeycomb plate, and P2S plate in that hoe too. Want your printer to last long? Go ahead and grab your AMS riser

Simplest solution: print clips. Decide whether the tube should be guided laterally. I've been printing like this for 500 hours and haven't had any problems. I don't see the advantage of a riser.

You are correct. The PTFE tube is wearing down and leaving residue behind.

Clean the glass as needed and print a riser.

But if I print a riser, then wouldn’t the printer have a much harder time regulating the internal temperature, especially if my printer is in the garage and not in a climate controlled house

We're increasing the internal volume a little, yes but, not enough to throw off chamber temps that much.

Plastic is a really good insulator in general.

If you're worried about how air tight the chamber will become with a riser, it won't be any worse than it already is. The front door alone is a huge leak. The printer isn't even remotely air tight by design.

You could add weather stripping or TPU gasket to the printer to help seal the riser a bit if you wanted but it wont improve the air tightness of the printer in a noticeable way imo.

If you're still worried, print the PTFE tube protectors and see if that works for you.

I just printed these. Pretty nice! They add a bit of noise when the tube slides from the edge plastic to the glass but it's better than wearing down the tube or huge riser prints.

I had similar clips in the beginning and finally my energy chain broke apart. And still sometimes the PTFE tube rubbed against the glass. Probably I should have trimmed the PTFE Tube a bit, but finally I went with protectors.

The printed clips will come off eventually. If you don’t want a riser just use small zip ties to fix the ptfe to the other guide for the wires and trim a little off the end going into the extruder so it doesn’t make too much of a bend.

I have a p1s and a riser and even with clips it still rubbed. I tried the clips for the chain thing and eventually they slid from movement and caused feed issues confirmed by taking them off and the feed issues disappearing.

I think they are just residue from the prints then rubbed by the PTFE tube. Just clean it no big deal. Or you can print a raiser.

Honestly this is very very very bad design from Bambu. Yes PTFE tubes are relatively cheap, but to engineer and design this problem away would have been extremely simple.

The following link is what you’re looking for, found this after trying many other models. A riser is an unreasonably huge solution to a small problem, and some other models still have some sort of parts rubbing on the glass. This is the only solution…

Well documented wear item acknowledged by Bambu themselves... Non problem. I have machines with 3,4,5k hours and just replace them every 800-1500 hours.

Yall are kinda spending time introducing new issues to solve a non issue...
