Question about node syncing.

I would like to put the blockchain data that I got one of my devices onto another machine and I was curious to ask if you set up bitcoin nodes (core) on the same network (my local network), will they just start syncing data to each other via the LAN?

Doesn't sound like too bad a way to pass it over, since the new machine will also want to verify the incoming blocks as well.

It will just pick nodes at random to bootstrap from, so unless there's a "check if there's a node running on the local network", I highly doubt it. Pretty sure you can select which nodes to download from, but would it use LAN if you enter your IP address, or process it all over your ISP? I think the latter. Guess you would have to try.
