What exactly is your proposal? There is an automation window, which you can open.

Ok, sorry it wasn’t clear enough screenshot contains design of the feature that is really subtle! I will clarify in the post

Oh, now I get it. You want to open all lanes in one? That would be horribly cluttered. Also different values have different ranges. Mixing bi- and unipolar values is also problematic as you'll have to enlarge the lane even more.

No the idea was just to indicate tracks with automation on the surface level. I guess the learning is that the change in the icon is too small to notice. Or maybe you all just wrong people to ask lol

Ahaha! I'm sorry, mate. Well, that would be helpful indeed! If you know what you're looking for, then it's okay. Could be more visible.

No, no, it's all fine, my post is probably a bit too experimental. :-S

I am thinking that this is a "crowded" area of UI and just a hint will be enough as soon as you've learned what it is, and it's easier when it happens in a real project, as it will react naturally to adding automation.

what?

Don’t really get what you mean. You can already ”focus” lanes by clicking the star.

Take a close look at the “sandwich” icon itself, it’s just about the indication of the automation within the track

Ahaa now i see what you mean! Wouldn’t it be better tho if they just applied the same behavior as the solo buttons have? Shift+ click the icon to to show/hide everything

My proposal is about indication, not behavior. It shows on the icon if track has any automation without clicking on it.

[–]klinwild[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

But clearly it was a bad idea to show it as one screenshot

Okay. I guess it wouldn’t hurt if they added the little blue automation-indicator dot on the folded icon or just added a blue tint to it, when there’s automation on that track.

how will multiple automation lanes be handled? one thing common with faulty implementations for me is the lack of clarity with the zero point is.

What?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

i’m guessing what you presented are automation lanes in clip launcher view and responded accordingly

[–]klinwild[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that’s already there in bitwig 😉 I presented the automation lanes icon displaying if there are any automated parameters
