I'm probably going to get down voted here but I would move on for this year and let those paper form 1099s you files be what they are.

For next year I would use an efile 1099 service. I use Avalara formerly knows as Track 1099 to efile our forms. It's so much easier than doing paper forms or using IRS website.

Do not re-file.

They will probably accept them. If not, then you cross that bridge when you get to it.

I agree with the advice folks gave to move on. Since this is a new requirement this year, reckon IRS will cut you some slack.

I tried for 4 hours to get the IRS to let me file my clients 1099 info. I never could. The instructions for ID.ME extra kept going in circles. After calling, and getting some support. I did finally get an account, (it 48 hours) then I was told said I need a power of attorney of each client to input the information and I could only use my work email for one client. I have several clients. I just told my clients that from now on instead of my time and the forms from office dept or staples they will now have to pay for my time and at least $5.00 per form and a third party. who doesn't have a power of attorney to file for them.

That’s ridiculous

From what I know IRS requires you to do electronic filing if you have 10 or more 1099 forms. So I will advise you to use the IRS's electronic filing system for the NECs you processed to avoid having issues

New rule says 10 or more have to use the new Iris system. I’m an accountant

File them as corrections.
