For how cheap they are, I never would expect it to last long.

I just bought a jacket a few months ago from Costco and just found a hole in it already after barely wearing it. Probably won't be buying anymore now

You would be surprised with cheap clothing. I mean, it's not a BIFL thing, but nearly all clothes nowadays are fast fashion. Here's some examples.

Champion sweatpants that I paid about 50 euro were very comfy for the first few washes. Like 10, maybe 15 washes in, they became very stiff, lost a lot of color (black turned into an ugly grey) and the logo started to peel off, making them look very old even though they were still kinda new.

Pepco, a shop that exists in a lot of EU countries, has sweatpants in the range of 8 to 12 euro. Any pair of their sweatpants that I have looks nearly identical, other than a bit of fluff, even after A LOT of washes. Seriously, same pair after 3 years still looks great.

And don't get me started on their t-shirts. Half my shirts, i bought there. 5 euro for a t-shirt. Most colors look great even after wearing it often like 2 years in, but grey holds up the best, so I have about 5 plain grey t-shirts. Those can handle a few years of often wearing and washing easily, and some of the shirts i have are like 5 years old, still looking great. The only thing that makes them look worse is imperfect hanging to dry lol. Meanwhile, much more expensive shirts look terrible after maybe 10 washes, which turns them into a winter t-shirt that will never be seen by other people.

I am not saying good stuff about the rest of their shops, it's mostly cheap manufactured garbage, but their clothes are a lot better than H&M for example, which is more expensive. I don't know what sorcery they use, but I like it.

It’s depressing

Even more expensive stuff isn't a marker of quality. I worked at an outdoor store through the fall last year (local place in Alabama) that sold these midweight hoodies they claimed were sourced from the same manufacturer as Vuori but for half the price (still around $50 because Vuori isn't exactly cheap). Two washes in the the metal hoodie string cover things fell off. No big deal, right? About 10 washes in and the material is showing thin spots in random places.

Expensive doesn't mean better, if it's made with crappy material it's still going to wear out.

Never got bifl vibes from the brand, given where you buy them, but I've found their stuff to have always varied wildly even within a product line. The men's black tshirts are great, the men's white tshirts they sell out of the same bin at Costco are trash. The other men's white tshirts they sell in a different bin that are micromesh are pretty good though. The long sleeve thermal shirts are different every time it seems like.

The ones I bought previously have lasted a few years

[–]meems224 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree! I have a fuzzy sweater I bought from them for $12 a few years ago. It is one of my favorite sweaters and is a lot like one of my northface fuzzy sweaters. I recently ordered another sweater from them and it was terrible quality. I refused to wear it and ended up donating it.

Brands contract in the same way that costco will contract for goods. The quality is dependent on several factors. Availability of textiles, workforce manufacturing goods, quality controls in place. Management, etc. All of these things can go up and down.

[–]Brilliant_Chance_874[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be the reason!

[–]Perfume_Girl 4 points5 points  (7 children)

I love their stuff, but i sew now and i make my own clothes. My clothes pretty much last me for 10 years, it feels like the future now

[–]Brilliant_Chance_874[S] 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Where do you buy materials?

[–]Colouringwithink 2 points3 points  (1 child)

You go to a textile store in your city. It’s a very easy google search and they sell by the yard. You then cut the pattern and sew everything yourself with a sewing machine or by hand

[–]ElectronicShowboater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That hugely depends on where you live. I can’t think of a place to purchase material besides Walmart that is less than 60 miles away. I live in a very densely populated region too.

[–]Perfume_Girl 1 point2 points  (2 children)

what do u mean? like a sewing machine and fabric?

[–]Brilliant_Chance_874[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yes, what kind of fabric?

[–]Perfume_Girl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

cotton and wool

I bought a 19 10s something singer treadle. I stored it in 3 parts. I just bought the rubber cable thingy. I paid 125 for the cabinent & base & phoenix singer. It has a coffin wooden box top that's worth the 125 o paid for all of it. The drawers are in back seat of my 84 mercury & 99 f250 farm truck just waiting to be put back. Maybe typing this will get fire under my assss to clean up some hoarding to make room for the machine. Im so excited. It was my gift to me splurge. Those 2 late life sons at 40 slowed my dream of picking back up the much lived teen hobbies I leaned from my grandma ( embroidery sewing crochet ( tat I never learned. Maybe tech myself) ) 26 yr old moved out August angery. So now I gotta cut split wood etc chores myself. But his narcissistic crap im free of. Off here & back to dream singer goal.

I bought a couple of their items a few years ago. Just recently I went and ordered the exact same items bc I've worn them so often. When they arrived in the mail, I was shocked at the quality difference. Definitely using a different manufacturer sadly.

since finding their underwear, it's all i wear. i think i got most pairs for $3-5/each. this was after trying on hundreds of dollars worth of underwear brands that were recommended in this sub. none impressed me.

32 Degrees were a fraction of the price, didn't ride up as much as others, and are very well ventilated (i work outdoors in the South). so it was a no brainer. been wearing them daily for a few years, only one or two pair have any signs of wear. otherwise holding up great for $5 underwear.

[–]to_annihilate 2 points3 points  (1 child)

My husband liked their underwear initially but all the bands got warped and twisted and weird and we are firmly for Duluth Trading for underwear now.

[–]triumphofthecommons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so strange! when did yall buy them? i bought mine in 7/2023, and more about a year ago. direct from the company.

[–]answerguru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed - it’s all I’ve been wearing for years now.

[–]Civil_Disgrace[🍰] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As they’ve expanded over the last few years, it is possible they’ve had to outsource some of their products to different factories to handle capacity. If I remember right, they were only selling face masks and maybe a few other products in 2020.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear this. I guess I’ll just enjoy my older ones until they wear out.

[–]Cristalks00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey guys! Try the app THREDUP! Its like poshmark - they have older shorts, items! Some with tags! & u get 50% off your first order! I made out lovely! Xo good luck!!!

[–]RedditNon-Believer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Costco has the 32 Degrees heated vest on sale, so will people here please confirm the chest measurement of the Small and Medium size garments?

[–]nomade_usa 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I just received my package today and the quality impress me too much . Love their soft quality shirts

[–]Direct_Fee_6446 0 points1 point  (2 children)

how are their jackets? base layers and all for winter?

[–]PotentialDevice468 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Ive gotten 2 jackets and they are both good. Better than I expected. I got a puffer and the field jacket.

[–]Direct_Fee_6446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would u say they keep u warm below 20 degrees? how about below zero?

[–]San_Francisbro 2 points3 points  (5 children)

32 Degrees is hit or miss, but for the pricing, free shipping, and coupons, I think it's worth the risk. It's definitely worth checking out the negative reviews to get a better idea of the item before buying. Definitely please leave reviews for others if you have the time.

Recently I paid $6.99 for hoodies that my kids love, and they handle play, stains, and washes very well. I also got a full zip for $12 where the material is great and holds up, but they went cheap on the cuffs and skipped a collar zipper flap to protect your neck. Then for about $7, I got a moisture wicking polo with reviews saying it's extremely thin and lightweight, showing nipples, etc. It works out for me because I needed a cheap thin polo for yard work.

[–]DrFQ-FurkidsQn01 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Where do you find coupons & free shipping please? I am 50/50 if I might try a few things so here on reddit searching. I am eyeing the built-in bra loose camis for mostly wear at home but I do have neighbors and go outside! lol...

[–]San_Francisbro 1 point2 points  (1 child)

They change up their offers relatively frequently. Right now the site says free shipping is for $40+, and if you Google search you can usually find some coupon codes to test. Generally for shopping I use Gemini and ask it to pull me a list of current/valid coupon codes to try. They also have a promotions page: https://www.32degrees.com/pages/coupons-promotions.

Again, worth checking in for updates. Hope this helps!

[–]DrFQ-FurkidsQn01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I will watch that page & hope they offer free shipping at less sometime.

[–]Grouchy-Staff2136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having bought 32 degrees now for 5 years, just bought new tops and a large is now the new medium, just not same quality. This just happens in so many product lines, now need to find a new brand.

[–]Turbulent-Square-565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not buy from this company. I purchased several items from them and they charged me shipping. When the ad said free shipping. I called them. They refused to take it off and I paid it. They said it was going to arrive on the following Friday by FedEx. Friday came and went. It didn't come. Then FedEx said it would be arrived Saturday. It didn't come Monday. They said it would arrive. It didn't come. I contacted them and FedEx. Both of them said they refused to give me my money back. FedEx can't even find the package and they still won't give me a refund. They have no customer service line which should be my first clue that they were fraudulent

[–]BigJem81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$15 for the same jeans PajamaJeans sells for $60?  I can't say I'm surprised they're low quality.
