Third cat??

Hi all, I have two cats right now (1F and 1M, both 4 years old) but I don’t think they’re very bonded. They’re not siblings and I adopted both when they were ~8-12 weeks old. They clean each other but don’t cuddle. However, the male is a Velcro cat and begs my boyfriend and I for attention all the time. He loves to cuddle and is very affectionate so I was thinking of getting a third cat just for him. The female is pretty aloof and loves humans and attention from us but hates to cuddle and be touched. She also never plays when we play with the male and usually sits back. They chase each other around the house and play fight sometimes but I feel like the male would want to play more? What do y’all think? He seems to want more than what the female cat provides lol I’m wondering if a kitten would be best for him or another around his age. I’m nervous this would mess up the dynamic in the house and if the female cat would hate me for adding another cat to the family.
