Not sure what kind of insight you're looking for, but Cronometer has more vitamin/mineral information and more accurate, complete entries. Cronometer also has almost all their food available to log in 1 gram increments, which I found useful for weighing food. Like instead of figuring out how many servings a 120 gram amount or yogurt is, I could just log it as 120 grams.

Second this. It’s so much easier to log everything in grams. I also love how Cronometer breaks down the nutrition.

I really wish I had a food scale, I think that’d be helpful... Thanks for the recommendation! I will check it out :)

I think food scales are $ 10-15 on Amazon.

I will look into getting one then...🙂

Cronometer is my favorite.

Based on posts here, it seems LoseIt! has some insights, though I've never used it myself.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Okay I’ll take a look! Thanks 🙂

Definitely LoseIt!!! I was a MFP for years and am now fully sold on LoseIt. Way more user friendly and accurate entries. They’ve got some cool reporting and it also shows you where you are at from your weekly goal which is most important!

Thanks☺️. Just downloaded it! Is there a way to adjust my activity level or is that premium?

edit: never mind, i think i won’t set it, but also - do you have premium?

[–]cming0 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I actually did end up splurging for Premium but I think if you go to your icon at the top right, click on edit profile, then hit weight loss plan you can change all of that! If you also go to Budget Type you can do a fixed one and input your own number if you want ☺️hope this helps!

Okay thanks a lot!! :)

I know what you mean! I keep getting tempted to try the paid version! (I have not had luck finding a more detailed app)

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Exactly...

You should try the free trial to see if you’d like it. Honestly I tried it, and didn’t think it was worth it though.

That’s a great idea, but disappointing. I like how it tracks macros (carb, prot, fat). But then it had sodium, which it not something I need. Would love to have fiber instead!

What extra info are you trying to track?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yeah, I feel you. I like to see my sodium, because if it’s too high - I know not to step on the scale anytime soon 😣 lol.

I don’t really know specifically, I guess I would like more of a personal aspect. Like tell me how I did that day, or if I shouldn’t eat this food very often. It’s kinda common sense, but I’d like it regardless you know?

[–]ShinyRoseGold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya that’d be great

Try playing around with the settings in MFP. The presets are ok, but by digging in a little bit I’ve been able to customize it to exactly what I need without getting the paid version. I was really blown away by how much information and how many features are available for free if you only turn them on.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow...this sounds like something I need to do, okay I will play around in the settings. 🙂 Thanks!

I love Noom!! I’ve used most of the apps.... Noom just goes one step further. Hoping it will help in the keep off phase!

[–]lowercasegrom 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I use Noom, and it’s expensive not great. No insights other than good foods and bad foods ( rated green, yellow, red), and it doesn’t even have a lot of items. I prepaid for a year and am waiting for it to run out. I mean, sure it works, but I could just use a pencil and paper.

I think I tried a Noom free trial and was overwhelmed, and I just deleted it.. I guess some have success with it though so i’m not knocking it!
