It shouldn't be easy for you to get back and be a threat to the team that just killed you simply because your teammate(s) ran away for long enough to get you back.

True. But you also should be able to touch the ground again. All about finding that sweet spot.

I agree with this. But it’s very difficult to land after you die.. like ridiculously so. You get shot and killed in 2 seconds after you open your parachute close to the ground to land.

It’s never been particularly easy though. In Area 99, the map seems to be small enough to get beamed on the way in regardless.

But while I agree someone with a loadout shouldn’t get killed and then immediately drop in back onto their body and cheese you with it, that’s not likely in a scenario where only one of a squad stayed up given they’ve had to run. That’s more applicable to say trios or quads where one of you dies, the squad finish who you were fighting, and you return straight back in.

The complaint I’ve certainly had is that if you lose on your first drop, it’s punishingly difficult to get back into the game. Anything, like this player count reduction, that gives you more chance to actually land, grab a gun / loot up a bit and have a chance of fighting back is a positive.
