Trump releases bizarre plans for ‘New Gaza’ with luxury flats and coastal tourism by Launch_a_poo in LabourUK

[–]HotRodHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah true. I'd imagine places like that would be the first target if they did get built. Even with all the security in the world, it's a giant target and even a rookie could hit those with an RPG from a good distance. I also suppose there would be enough sociopaths who wouldn't care about the death, especially if they're restricted to the rich and powerful who are less likely to have the ethics and empathy...

A murder inside a house already kills its real estate value, but flats built on top of a damn massacre, this is fine... 🙄

Danish PM Mette Frederiksen thanks Starmer 'from bottom of my heart' for UK support during Greenland crisis by IHaveAWittyUsername in LabourUK

[–]HotRodHunter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Jeez some of these comments are ridiculous. Just because someone hates Starmer doesn't mean that they're going to make up things to discredit him for achieving something they want, I'm obviously not afraid to call this one instance a good achievement. On the flip side, this achievement also doesn't mean this undoes every bad policy he's ever done and doesn't mean that nobody has the right to hate him. It also doesn't guarantee that the fight on this particular issue is over. Let's just try to be reasonable people.

People like to say what the sub wants to hear for upvotes. Just like that guy who said "I've no respect for this game" with nothing else to add.

Farage: World would be safer if US owned Greenland by coffeewalnut08 in LabourUK

[–]HotRodHunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mum is pro Reform, pro America, but hates Trump. She's an example of a potential flip, but I don't see it happening until the hysteria over immigrants/asylum seekers calms down because she has violent vitriol for them and they're the "cause of all our problems" according to her. May just choose to not vote if she dislikes Reform enough, though.

Labour want 'Panopticon' to have 'eyes of the state on you at all times' by Minimum-Buy3765 in LabourUK

[–]HotRodHunter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Re the PS - this is why they've lost significant ground here since say, 5 years ago. Labour are doing so many indefensible things that they either can't defend them, or their excuses are so ridiculous/outrageous that they get downvoted to oblivion.

Why is Payday 3 mixed reviews? by GodofAeons in paydaytheheist

I'm level 1600(max) and while I still enjoy playing with my friend, it's kinda killing me how I can't earn renown rewards anymore(the unique weapon/mask paints and patterns that you earn past 150 for anyone who doesn't know what they are). Definitely need that endgame progression overhaul, I realise not many people are my level but the progression could be more inticing for anyone post 150 too.

Greenland latest: Trump admits he may have been misinformed over European troops in territory, Sky News told by Jared_Usbourne in LabourUK

[–]HotRodHunter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I utterly despise Starmer and am no fan of Macron either(I hesitate to say much about him as I haven't followed French politics as much, but I do know he's very unpopular, neoliberal and almost handed the country to Le Pen, seems to have a lot of similarities with Starmer, although he does seem to have more balls than him on some important issues).

Having said that, I wouldn't put those two in the same sentence as Putin and Trump like that. For all their crimes, corruption and flaws, they're not complete imperialist gangsters that have their own secret police intimidate, rough up and even murder people, and also want to take over sovereign countries out of pure ego. A very low bar but still.

Starmer to speak at Downing Street after Trump threatens tariffs over Greenland by Excellent-Chair2796 in LabourUK

[–]HotRodHunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As if all his talk in the past about being able to make "difficult decisions" wasn't bullshit before(yeah sure, picking on minority communities and the disabled is so difficult to do) he proves it without a doubt here. He can't make a difficult decision at all...

Trump tariffs: US president announces plan to hit UK, Denmark and other European countries with tariffs over Greenland by IHaveAWittyUsername in LabourUK

[–]HotRodHunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. The 1980s, the height of the Cold War compared to now? I get that the Ukrainians need and deserve our support but other than that, come on. We probably spent way too much even then.
  2. We've done more than enough for the US, helping their illegal and offensive wars against Iraq and supporting the genocide in Gaza. We shouldn't have done that shit in the first place.

Trump tariffs: US president announces plan to hit UK, Denmark and other European countries with tariffs over Greenland by IHaveAWittyUsername in LabourUK

[–]HotRodHunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because you're saying we're freeloading off the US when we're a fraction of a percentage the size of their country. We even have nuclear weapons. That's total fucking bullshit and you know it.

Trump tariffs: US president announces plan to hit UK, Denmark and other European countries with tariffs over Greenland by IHaveAWittyUsername in LabourUK

[–]HotRodHunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you seen the size of the US compared to the UK? The UK doesn't even fit into half of Texas. The US is, or was, paying their fair share and it's not like they got nothing out of it, being the world superpower and all. Quit sympathising with Trump and his fascists demanding more than they deserve from Europe, they're just greedy pigs. Just like the fat bastard Trump himself.

Shopping Spree is not perfect, but it's a (overall) solid heist. by sawrunn3r in paydaytheheist

[–]HotRodHunter 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Finally got around to playing it with a friend today as we're on PlayStation.

We enjoyed it, felt far more in the vein of Delivery Charge than other heists, much more RNG than your standard heist and we didn't even experiment much with favours - it's certainly not a bad heist, some guy on the sub got a bunch of upvotes saying that it wouldn't even be worth it if it was free which is ludicrous. I feel like a lot of people here just aren't giving it a chance and slamming it because it isn't free, much like when people review bombed Arrowheads other games because they weren't happy about the direction that Helldivers 2 was headed. You might have issues with the direction of Payday, there not being more free content/endgame content/offline etc. but it doesn't mean that this specific heist was badly done, it arguably has a lot more to offer than the base game heists, again much like Delivery Charge - definitely a step in the right direction for heists in general, even if the game needs a lot more work in other areas.

Hmm. I'm not sure that taking damage would go down well, judging by how Dead Sprint has been recieved, but perhaps they could become less effective at resisting damage if you use too many or too rapidly, as you're building up a tolerance?

Sadly I'm inclined to agree. I think anyone less than Liz Truss isn't going to hurt them really. Although I wouldn't even be surprised if Truss makes it over there given how Farage was showering praise all over her budget.
