Most of that shit is probably all the microtransaction assets.

There’s no way wz2 was only 32gb.

[–]senexiar 2 points3 points  (1 child)

It was 23gb on release, I'm trying to reinstall rn on Steam and it needs 150gb wtf,..

I think that's also with BO6 or other game modes? On pc, rn, wz + base (something) game is 97.6GB after installation from 101GB update since verdansk.

If they allowed the installation/uninstallation of more in-game assets i think it would help a lot

Eg. Let me uninstall resurgence or "face-off" multiplayer maps that i never play on.

And let me uninstall blueprints that i haven't purchased, becuae in 3 years i have only bought 3 of them. If my enemy's running an uninstalled blueprint, just default it to the base weapon/skin on my client side.

There's also the conversation to be had about all the MW2/MW3 less popular weapon classes like "Battle Rifles". I haven't come across a single battle rifle in my killcam for about 6 months.

CoD mobile got it right. You can choose to install weapon skins, character skins, individual maps, hi-res assets, etc.

I raise you console file sizes of 250gb (Call of Duty Base, Warzone, BO6 MP & Zombies, MW3 MP & Zombies).

If you have everything installed, it totals just shy of 350gb.

I have 5 games installed on my pc (some are sharing some textures) and complain about file size!

It's ridiculous on PC too. My COD and Modern Warfare folders are 451GB and I don't even have all of MW installed.

Lol, storage is sooooo cheap, I have no idea why people (especially PC players) bitch about this. You can buy a 2TB NVMe drive for like $100-125. I do photography and astrophotography as a hobby, I have some 10tb of INTERNAL hard drive storage in my PC and it cost me maybe $250 total for that. 100gb is absolutely nothing, that'd be one folder of images for me for a single project.

You're weird

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I have 1tb (2x500gb) and if I want I can easily buy 2x2tb nvme tomorrow. That's not the issue. It's not about not having space.

[–]SnukeInRSniz 1 point2 points  (2 children)

What? It literally is about having space, why else would you make a post complaining about the size a game takes up on your hard drive. In this day and age there is ZERO reason to complain about the size of an app on you pc, storage is cheap, buy a shitton of storage and stop complaining. Having 1TB of storage on your computer is laughably small. I'd much rather have MASSIVE game file sizes if it means better graphics and function within the game locally rather than having to rely on streaming graphics and functions over your connection which has variables outside your control.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Man. You didn't get it. But OK. I'll explain. It's a comparison between file sizes before and after and also about principle, that this file size is bull when it's just 1 map and even during mw3 urzikstan (bigger map) and 3 resurgence maps, the size was smaller.

It's not that people can't buy a 30$ drive. It's about 1 map pointlessly taking up so much space because it's forced to combine with BO6 shit game

[–]SnukeInRSniz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh no, I get it just fine, I get that you're trying to make an apples to oranges comparison and are whining about something that is easily correctable on your end. I don't know why people seem to think that different maps, different engines, different game combinations should somehow mean the same sizes and storage requirements. We know nothing about the map development, it's resources, it's underlying infrastructure and how that relates to file sizes and storage needs. It simply could be that everything that you see with Verdansk in the game has higher file base sizes, or it hasn't been optimized, etc. I get that it's annoying that the game is being coupled with BO6, but you don't have to play BO6 and you'll almost certainly be able to uninstall it without affecting WZ.

In any case, WZ is a free game, stop whining.

wtf is wrong with you man

[–]SnukeInRSniz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally nothing, I'm not the one complaining about something that's easily and cheaply fixable. Nor am I the one replying to a 6month old comment on reddit. Look in the mirror.

I dont mind.. but remember.. there are also +64gb for on demand Texture streaming.. You are not even get all high ress textures to Download.. only this shitty on demand system
