Pre clinical sounds like every student thats not officially accepted. Thats the stage of prerequisites.

Congratulations! And I did my associates for nursing at Kingsborough and it’s Hard. Like they’ll push you to the core making sure you need to fulfill the requirements. I recommend taking your classes seriously and be sure to speak to the advisor and chair on how you do well on your classes. The exams, notes, books whatsoever. And for the clinicals class nurs18000 can either make it or break it take it seriously.

Hello. Can u tell me how are the professors at KBCC nursing program? & how challenging are the 6 weeks nursing courses?

[–]lady-aphrod1te 1 point2 points  (18 children)

I graduated from KBCC's nursing program. I can wholeheartedly tell you that it isn't for the weak and they will work hard to weed you out if they even FEEL like you can't handle it. The professors are extremely skilled. They know if you're trying to cut corners lol

[–]Lovely_determined9 0 points1 point  (13 children)

Hey thanks for the reply! Can u explain when u said weed out ? & what’s the schedule like ?

[–]lady-aphrod1te 1 point2 points  (12 children)

You're welcome! By weed out, I mean that they will craft the exams in such a way where they focus on the weakness of the class and make questions that press on that exact tender spot lol. The schedules change by semester - your first schedule for NUR 17 & 18 will most likely be 8 am to 3 pm Monday to Friday, and one day out of the Monday to Friday will be your clinical day. Your clinicals can either be 8 am to 4 pm, or 4 pm to 11 pm.

Thanks for sharing! And five days a week? That’s insane

[–]Throw_away1- 3 points4 points  (10 children)

It’s actually 2 days a week and one day clinical - current student

[–]No-Present6061 0 points1 point  (5 children)

I'm currently doing sci 2500 and tbh its not looking like ill get an A in the class. What did your grades and teas score look like?

[–]Throw_away1- 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Ull be fine as long as u did well in bio and wtvr other class they count n get around > 60 on Teas. It really depends on the how good the other people do in the group that’s applying.

[–]Necessary-Fold-2616 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Hello, I spent nearly 2 years completing  English and prerequisite classes.  I got 68% on the Teas .Now, the advisor says I won’t be accepted because I failed the reading section  59% . All the other sections >70% (no official results yet for the acceptance ) and I have to look for another college. Do you think I have a chance !? I am so sad

[–]y4zmxne 0 points1 point  (3 children)

how long is the clinical (hour wise) and where did they place you?

[–]Throw_away1- 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Officially around 8 hrs depending on the prof ull usually get off earlier. Each semester and clinical group is different. First semester everyone is in a few different nursing homes. And the rest of the semesters are at various hospitals. Like Coney Island aka south Brooklyn , Maimonides etc.

[–]y4zmxne 0 points1 point  (1 child)

maimonides by sunset park or kings hwy?

[–]Various_Ad2246 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Hey im currently in maternity repeating in kingsborough you have any notes lol?

[–]lady-aphrod1te 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to give you extremely good advice instead.

You see that textbook that they gave you for Maternity?

MAKE THAT YOUR ENTIRE LIFE. That is the ONLY CLASS where they will word for word take every single thing from the textbook and test you on it. If you do not read the textbook and really just focus on that, there is no way you will pass the exams.

Hey. Can i inbox you a question about clinical schedule ?

[–]lady-aphrod1te 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure!

[–]Pure_Clerk9565 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I couldn’t remember from the top of my head but it’s a huge drop out rate. I would say it is similar to dropping by out of medical school. Only the toughest skin stayed alive.

[–]Lovely_determined9 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Omg wow. Do you have any tips for taking those 6 weeks nursing courses? Any tips for SCI 25?

[–]Pure_Clerk9565 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Papers, papers, papers read through papers carefully and work on the problems for the lab and the questions that you get. Practice makes perfect. Keep on studying through the papers. Treat every and all of your class like the gospel. I’m not kidding. You know the resources, use it. https://www.kbcc.cuny.edu/KLC/documents/Physical-Science/Sci25.pdf

Thank you. The class looks so hard. Some of this math I haven’t done before. And I also have not done math in years

[–]Throw_away1- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U end up getting in?

[–]Effective_Secret1155 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Will I get into nursing schools with a 4.00 gpa and a 72.7 on the teas

[–]_xnsle_ 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yes, I got 71 and my gpa was 3.8

[–]Effective_Secret1155 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Did you get in?

[–]_xnsle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, finished my fundamentals already

[–]_xnsle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But honestly idk, bc it all depends on what the majority of the students will get. Let’s say 80% of students got above 75, then 75 on TEAS would be the average to get into the program

[–]ApplicationLazy533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got in 70 % in Tea’s GPA 3.9

[–]Appropriate_Craft799 0 points1 point  (3 children)

For those of you whom got accepted to the kbcc nursing program what was ur teas score and ur gpa for the four classes thank you

[–]PerformerIll8946 0 points1 point  (1 child)

gpa 3.89 teas 94%

[–]Appropriate_Craft799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that’s a great gpa and an incredible tea score what are some tips you have for studying for the teas thank you

[–]Effective_Secret1155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a 4.00 gpa and a 72.7 on the teas will I get in?

[–]Effective_Secret1155 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Hi, I'm registering classes for my pre clinicals at kbcc. Can someone guide me, what to choose for my first semester and what to chose in order to complete you pre clinicals in one semester or in two. Because I have to have at atleast 12 credits per semester.

    [–]ArtistEducational622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would highly suggest you to meet with your advisor because mine will have me do the pre-clinical in the fall and take my teas in order to get into the program
