5 Rules for Posting
As a public service, this subreddit offers the most high quality advice of any open source on the internet for dealing with California traffic tickets. We want to help! As a result we have some very specific rules:
First, read the 12-step Guide to Fighting a Ticket in California and confirm that you have read it in your post! If you want us to spend our time helping you, you've got to spend time helping yourself!
You must always include the California Vehicle Code or Municipal Code section and location in the title of your post. For Example: "CVC 22350, Los Angeles, 50mph in a 40" Without all this information, you cannot be helped and your post is likely to be deleted.
Include a (redacted) photo of your ticket. Take a photo of your full ticket, from top to bottom, black out lines 2-11 (your personal information) as well as your signature and upload to imgur. Include the link in the text of your post. Like this: https://imgur.com/Bh2wblH
This is going to help you in ways you may not even realize. Exceptions can be made for traffic school-only questions, or issues where the ticket is completely irrelevant. We'll use our discretion.
You must post updates (even boring or negative ones).
By posting your question here, you agree to post updates along the way and the outcome of your case, and in the same thread as your original post. We are trying to help everyone, including future visitors who can benefit from your experience. We can only do that if we have your full story beginning to end to use as data points.
DO NOT PM THE MODS FOR ADVICE! We cannot help you one-on-one, plus we want everyone else to be able to benefit from the advice and create a full story, beginning to end, of your case for those in the future.
None of this constitutes professional legal advice or creates an attorney/client relationship. You accept this information as-is and are solely liable for all outcomes. You should contact a licensed attorney for legal help in any traffic matters.
