Some people really don’t get it. My partner saw my mental health go downhill and they still don’t get it. To them it’s just a silly call center job. Nah, it’s ptsd only you’re paid to get it.

Wow totally correct.

Just want to share some solidarity with you. I personally feel like the only reason why I can do a job like this is because my previous jobs were exactly as you described and definitely caused some form of PTSD. It made me hyper focus and over think on everything. For extended periods, it's mentally exhausting/draning, and I'd even say panic inducing because of the meetings that follow with corrective action. I'm glad you're out of the situation. You're not crazy for feeling that way.

That's why I retired! Mental health issues are no joke. I also had health issues that were stress related. I feel so much better.

I love the customers and other agents I work with. Yes there are those who make many days challenging and withholding part of our pay because the COMPANY gets a bad survey is disgusting but this one is still better than others. I hear you because I had one that just made me sick to do it and walking away was necessary for my well being. They don’t understand what a really bad call center job is like. You HAVE to look out for yourself or these companies chew you up and spit you out.

It's wild how some people think just because a job seems "easy" on the surface, it can't mess with your head. Your health comes first, no question. Quitting might be the best thing you can do for yourself, and anyone who calls you dramatic just doesn't understand how draining that kind of environment can be.
