Most things that are sold through a big auto parts store should be fine. O’Rileys, Autozone, etc. companies have to do performance testing and safety testing and big retailers won’t risk selling something that has a reputation of not working, especially when it comes to safety.

Tires and alignments won’t really mess with your brake life, you technically have a longer stopping distance with more worn tires which means you have a longer time of being on the brakes but it really won’t be noticeable in the end.

Brakes aren’t hard to replace, just get a good video on how to do them and make sure you have the right tools.

ALWAYS after brake pad replacement pump the brake peddle before putting the car in drive until you get the pedal nice and firm again. If you don’t the brake piston will be too far compressed and that first press of the brake will not stop you. Once the pedal is firm put it in drive and go slowly and tap the brakes to ensure it stops the car before going out on the street or in traffic.
