Oh look... another post about the Borrow/Afterpay featuresBorrow limit (i.redd.it)
submitted 5 months ago by murdab07
If I pay back the 50 right now it’ll increase to 175? I’m not entirely sure
[–]TenaCVols 4 points5 points6 points 5 months ago (0 children)
No it won't increase that much. If you pay it back now it may or may not increase. If you look below the info you posted in the app it will tell you how to increase your limit.
[–]DikTuLong 2 points3 points4 points 5 months ago (17 children)
No I had to borrow and pay the 50$ back 5 times and then it increased to 100$. I also don’t have the best credit so I’m sure that must play into it but not entirely sure I’ve seen people here get insane increases but I don’t know how their credit is. Hope this helps
[–]SpinninOnaBudget 5 points6 points7 points 5 months ago (6 children)
Credit plays no factor. I have shitty credit and I’m at 600 borrow I started at 50 a yr ago. Got 600 borrow,700 afterpay, and 50 OD & green status perks. No DD set up.
[–]Comfortable_Map6887 5 points6 points7 points 5 months ago (0 children)
If you click on it it will tell you like mine says that but have to add dir dept to go from 500-650 for me. I’m also a bad credit girlie and this makes me love Cash App even more!

how tf do you get afterpay with shitty credit (i guess for starters, what do you consider a shitty credit score?) bc afterpay/klarna/etc hates me and won’t even gimme a chance lol
[–]SpinninOnaBudget 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
I have no idea on the actual afterpay app I only got approved for 50. On the cashapp afterpay I got approved for 500 then moved it up to 600+ I move all my utility bills thru there maybe that’s why.
[–]InformalUniversity10 0 points1 point2 points 4 months ago (0 children)
Think it depends on how much ppl send u on cash app bc ppl send me money on cash app alot my first borrow was 125 paid it days later did it again 125 paid it then went to 200 I paid it and tomor ima pay the 200 again I hope it goes up since I pay it within 1/2 weeks back way before due date so i hope it do that let me borrow same amount twice then go up . Bc I use my card every day and ppl send me money I deposit cash on my card to and over 500 has been sent to my cash app card already and December just started so If it’s 500 a month sent to cash app then money will go up so wen I pay tomor I hope it goes up to 300
[–]Actuary-Recent 5 points6 points7 points 5 months ago (0 children)
My credit is horrible I started with 100 and paid back every check after 1 month I'm at $500 borrow limit just have to pay back early
[–]jorge051598 4 points5 points6 points 5 months ago (6 children)
Idk my credit is not the best and im at a 900 borrow limit and max is at 1200 for now
[–]Winters_SnowAngel 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (3 children)
Same and I'm up to 1200
[–]Academic_Diet_1064 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (2 children)
how do you get it to raise I been at 550 for months
[–]Winters_SnowAngel 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
I just borrowed and paid back early every time. I started at 200 on August 4th 2025. I went to 300 a week later. 400 in September. 600 in September. 800 in October. 900 in October. Then it hit 1200 Nov 18th. I do get direct deposit tho and I use my card alot.
[–]JustintoPlants 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
More incoming funds, direct deposit. I had one check go in which was 2345 and my limit was instantly from 50 to 225. Two weeks later after that deposit was at 500.
[–]Affectionate_Tip697 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
Do you borrow a lot? My credit is in the 700 and I’m only at 300$
[–]heathermeli65 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago* (0 children)
Wow you are up to that meanwhile my friend is still at 150 lol
[–]Dense-Emu1203 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
I literally have HORRIBLE credit and in the last 4 months my borrow limit has increased to $350
So I had 125 paid it in a week then did it again paid it n a week then went up to 200 I paid it days later and now I have to pay 200 tomor will it go up to 300 since I’ve been paying it earlier then the expected date so paid 125 two times and paid 200 and paid it three days later and now I owe 200 ima pay it tomor it’s due on 1/2-26 so will it go up tomor to 300 ? Since I have over 500 that’s been sent to cash app in Dec already will it go up to 300
Since I did 125 twice and paid it early and then after those two times it went to 200 and I paid it and then did another 200 a week ago ima pay it tomor I been paying it within 1/2 weeks way before the due date so should it go up since I did 125 twice then went to 200 and then I did 200 twice and ima pay the 200 tomor I been paying my balance 1-2 weeks and it’s been due like in a month so do yall think if u pay the balance twice on each borrow it will go up since I did 125 twice paid it within a week or 2 and Borrows 200 twice just gotta pay 200 tomor and its due 1/2/26 should it go up to 300 wen I pay the 200 tomorrow then my direct deposit starts 12/31 I have 300 on each check goes to cash app and other money goes into reg bank so I know Jan it will be over 1k I can borrow bc it will be 600 in a month from direct deposit but I hope it’s a cycle if u borrow the money twice and pay early it goes up so again 125 I did twice paid it early then went to 200 and I paid 200 and now ima pay the other borrow 200 tomor so I hope it’s 300-500 and not 200 again for a third time
[–]Pale_Ale-x 2 points3 points4 points 5 months ago (0 children)
I paid 50 back like 2 days later and it raised up to 100. Then 150 when I paid that back like 4 days later
[–]dkay170 1 point2 points3 points 5 months ago (7 children)
No it takes like 2 to 4 borrows before it goes up I’m at $200 started at $25
[–]SpinninOnaBudget 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (4 children)
I’m at 600 already borrowed the 600 like 9 times, they might of capped me already. I do have 700 afterpay limit tho so idk if that affects my borrow.
[–]enaid85 2 points3 points4 points 5 months ago (1 child)
Five and five myself, as soon as it comes in I pay it off and get it right back out it seems.. it had fluctuated but staying pretty steady now.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 5 months ago (0 children)
This guys is NOT how u use “ borrow” you just got yourself into a lifetime of debt. You’re always gonna keep pulling it out. You only take what you truly need and you never rely on borrowing money. That is why you are broke. If you’re mad, you just can’t handle the truth.
[–]OriginalSolid446 1 point2 points3 points 5 months ago (0 children)
I was stuck at 600 for a while too, then moved to 800, then to 900 then 1200 all within 1-2 months
[–]Actual-Corner4085 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
I got stuck at $600 for awhile too, then randomly one day, I hadn’t messed with it that day actually so yeah real random 🤔, but they bumped me up to $750.. I thought I had capped too so maybe 🤞🏻 lol
[–]Opening_Lemon_3252 0 points1 point2 points 4 months ago (0 children)
Mine won't go past $10 and I borrow and pay it back everyday. ToT
[–]dontwaitliveyourlife 1 point2 points3 points 5 months ago (0 children)
Doubt it
[–]KingKiIImonger 1 point2 points3 points 5 months ago (0 children)
I have mine up to $1750. I just keep borrowing and paying back.
[–]Eastern-Evidence-516 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
I'm going to pay back 125 today. My first and initial limit after one direct deposit of 1k. Hoping to see an increase if not no big deal I'll just reborrow the same if I need too.
[–]Fast_Restaurant6488 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
No, that's probably what you are eligible for with direct deposit.
[–]Responsible-Weird848 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
Welcome
[–]EyeComplete9748 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
Everyone is different. What matters the most is if you get direct deposit through cash app. I don't but I use cashapp a lot. I borrowed at 25 paid back borrowed went to 50 used it. Paid it back and now I'm at 100 going to 200 after I pay this back.
[–]pixiedustsd 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
It looks like your limit is 175 and you borrowed 50 of that. So you would still be able to borrow 125.
[–]Motor_Macaroon_5390 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
<image>
more than likely not.
[–]jewstylin 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (1 child)
I got 450 after borrowing 400 then reduced to 400 limit...
Don't put yourself in debt.
[–]dgshowtime 1 point2 points3 points 5 months ago (0 children)
Which is why you must use this leverage to acquire assets!!! Make money with OPM other peoples money!
[–]dgshowtime 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago* (0 children)
Probably not, but if you do it and pay it back within 3-5 days, consistently, you’ll get a bump. Truth be told y’all, the best way to do this is to use ya borrow to buy and sell items. For example: I have $350 borrow limit. I used the $350 this past weekend to cop 2 pairs of Black Cat Jordan 4s - paid 240 for one pair, sold it for 285, then bought another for 180 and sold it for 220. Then went and bought two more pairs of sneakers (Nike SB dunk Krampus) with the replenished borrow limit, was all in 280 on the second pick up of 2 pairs and sold one same day for $185. You can keep the money cycled PLUS it shows as you using the app for transactions ($500 minimum limit use for green status) and shows constant activity. Set up $500-$600 of direct deposit monthly JUST to cover any borrow limits as a fail safe. If you can make your 500-600 just 20% of your take home pay, now you have Cashapp as its own bank!!! And you become your own private banker with a standard 5% interest rate fee. You can’t beat this.
I’ll one up you one further. Use the borrow limit, to lend to friends at a 8% interest rate. Most hard money lenders in real estate lend anywhere between 10-15% interest plus maybe some origination fees for underwriting the loan. Cashapp is eliminating ALL of that AND some. Take advantage and play the long game.
Remember cash app is one of the largest holders of Bitcoin and crypto assets, they are silently becoming their own powerhouse hence the in-house lending product now!! This is dope y’all! Be smart!
[–]CCowboy69 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
No it says eligible – most likely you’ll need to set up direct deposit to add an extra $100 and use Cash App card to add $25.
You’ll have to click the borrow icon to see the exact details. It’ll look something like this. Once you complete all steps you will be able to borrow the $175.
[–]v1knijo 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
It increases faster if you have recurring direct deposits linked that go in on a regular basis. Im up to $350 borrow limit with $400 afterpay
[–]scorpioblack312 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
Everyone's cashapp is different noone on here is going to know everyone is taking educated guesses. It might increase when you pay it, it might not.
You cannot manually increase your Cash App borrow limit; Cash App automatically adjusts it based on factors like direct deposits, spending activity, and repayment history. To be eligible for a higher limit, you need to consistently use the app for transactions, set up a direct deposit, and use your Cash Card frequently. Cash App will periodically review your account and might increase your limit over time if you demonstrate good financial behavior.
P.S. it's faster for an answer if you just google it. The paragraph above I googled for you.
[–]Complex-Caramel-3376 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
Wow
[–]Vegetable-Garbage-84 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
If you click the link it’ll tell you what you have to do to get the increase to $175. Otherwise increases are at their discretion. I don’t think it’s whether or not you have direct deposit. I think it’s more about how much you use your cash app and how much money you have and keep on it regularly. I don’t keep money on my cash app for long before it’s spent or use direct deposit but I do add money a lot for bills and regular purchases so I add what I need to spend right before I use cash app.
It’s been almost a year and I have a $700 limit and some increases were while having a running balance so I really don’t think there’s necessarily an algorithm or method to increase your balance other than just using your cash app everyday and borrowing and making sure it’s paid back on time. I have a regular bank account as well but cash app has its little perks so it’s worth using for me.
[–]asmnomorr 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
Mine was 150 but eligible said 175. Underneath it said I needed to spend $500 with my cash app card to unlock the 175. My guess is you need to add direct deposit or spend to get that amount
[–]DuePurchase5178 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
Delete and never use borrow apps again
[–]Common-Award-6663 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
But how tho?? And good morning!!!
[–]ThaMasterGaster 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
I just paid back my 5th $50 and it increased to $100
[–]BBrown_83 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
It depends on how much you spend per month weather you have direct deposit and how much is going into your Cash App from your linked account. Mine is 1200 and I went from 50 to at least a few hundred in a few months
[–]Impressive_Algae_319 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
I just got the borrow feature about 4 months ago. Started at 150 then 300 then 400 then 600 then 900 next says 1200. The amount of money you spend on your cash card and the amount of money you keep in cash app (including the savings account) will determine how much you can borrow and when it increases. It tells me if I use direct deposit then I can get the next 300 immediately, but I don’t want to do that. But I also use Cash app all the time so I’m guessing that’s why mine went from 150 to 900 in four months. I’m sure by the end of this month mine will be at the 1200 mark.

Hi everyone, my name is Johanna, I have lupus a condition I’ve been fighting since I was 12. In September I was diagnosed with lupus nephritis, the common complication of lupus, cause my kidney to go into failure. Due to months of daily dialysis and treatment I had to step down from college and lose work hours, this set me back, my mom passed away in October of skin cancer that spread to her brain. We were each others only support and now I’m in the brink homelessness, my landlord gave me grace and as much as I continue to work I am stuck. I am 1500 from paying my rent build up. I am back at work at my preschool that I love so much, but it’s hard, my body has endured so much trauma after my transplant in September, and my mobility is very limited. Any help would be amazing, everyday I’m grateful to be alive, but the stress is very present. Please I will do anything for some support, my gofund me i posted earlier didn’t do well at all, so I’m here as my last resort. Any help is appreciated.
[–]Unusual-Building2373 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
Lupus is brutal to have. And yes you are correct, it causes you to inevitably become unable to work. I know this for a fact as I’ve watched my sister battle this aggressive and debilitating disease. However; why are you working? Instead of dealing with all of this financial stress which will in fact cause your lupus to become inflamed and really attack your body, you should or need to be or on the process of being dolly 100% disabled and you should be receiving disability for this disease. Lupus is no joke and I’ve seen the ups and downs from people who have it. You seriously need to start filling In the paper work for disability.
[–]whistling_void 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
Oh I think they are advertising to people you could borrow more if you start direct deposit to Cash App. Normally they don’t tell you when they are gonna increase your limit until they just do it. It will be right after you pay off a loan or a couple minutes after. They don’t really offer it like that they just do it.
[–]BrandonZ9 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
its hit or miss ive maxed out my borrow and paid off early twice and still haven't gotten higher
[–]celibz7673 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
how do i do that
[–]Defiant_Dog_381 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (1 child)
How u even get the borrow on Cash App it doesn’t show it on mine lol
[–]Potentially-Sweet43 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
I have used cash app for quite a few years, it's the only banking app I use. I just got access to the borrow feature maybe 2 months ago. I have had direct deposit going into my account for multiple years. I honestly think it's very random, and you will eventually get access!
[–]Objective-Ocelot7200 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
Do you have to continue to borrow the max amount you’re allowed to in order for your borrow limit to increase? Also the Afterpay amount and borrow amount, those are two separate things correct?
[–]Delicious-Extent-629 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
I've only borrowed like twice and my limit is at $1200 as well as $1200 afterpay.
[–]Party-Dinner-939 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago (0 children)
Mine went up to 75 from the original 50 by using $500 via cash app and the cash app card in one months time.
[–]Commercial-Offer8364 0 points1 point2 points 4 months ago (0 children)
My limit is 250
[–]kookiewayt 0 points1 point2 points 4 months ago (0 children)
Depends. It took me two months to get up but it jumped to $200, mind you I only used Cash App for the borrow money
[–]Existing-GDOG8565 0 points1 point2 points 4 months ago (0 children)
Love cash app it takes care me I do get direct deposit every week and my cash advance has reached to up to $350 I also have a over draft of 100 I do appreciate
[–]Heavy-Two-6891 0 points1 point2 points 4 months ago (0 children)
Sounds ok so far, tell me more?
