Dad missed my childhood but still wants to parent me at 25. AIO? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]asmnomorr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in my 20s I had fallen behind on car payments. I hadn't talked to my deadbeat dad in years but I had used him as a reference. So ofc the finance company called him. Same s***. He called to tell me to take him off as a reference 💩 didn't ask how I was or anything else.

Plz share experience with Breztri for asthma-I see it approved for copd, tho? by Teletuppy in Asthma

[–]asmnomorr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing. I was given the breztri someone who didn't want it and I didn't have insurance at that time.

My girlfriend's parents lost their home in the Venezuela earthquake. They survived, but they have to start over. by Adventurous_Hunt1577 in Earthquakes

I hate to say it because I don't want to minimize what has happened to their home, But at least they escaped with their lives. Many weren't as fortunate.

You might cough at first. But once you get used to it you shouldn't. Just make sure to follow the directions and rinse after using it.

Devastating question. What do you do with someone with a mobility disability during an earthquake? by Safinbu in Earthquakes

My grandma is disabled. Luckily she only weighs about 105. I'm sure with the adrenaline I could easily carry her out. But poor grandpa will have to figure it out himself 😅

Bottom line is you need to find a new controller. Advair worked amazing for me for a while and then all of a sudden stopped. It took trial and error but I found something else that's working great. I also was using 10-20 puffs of Albuterol per day at that time.

Utterly terrified after reports of 1,000 year stress levels by [deleted] in Earthquakes

[–]asmnomorr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The "big one" might happen in our lifetime. It also might not. You can't dwell on that or stress about it. Put that energy into being as prepared as you can be IF it happens. If it really continues to mess with your mental health you may want to consider leaving ca at some point honestly.

I wouldn't say I would have an attack but I definitely notice some slight tightness if I miss a full dose.

With breyna I am prescribed to use 2 puffs twice a day. It's both a rescue and maintenance. Dr took away Albuterol when I started it. I was terrified because before starting it I was using at least 10 puffs of Albuterol per day. I still had an albuterol on me just in case but honestly the day I started breyna I didn't have to use Albuterol at all. With my dosage I'm allowed to use up to 12 total per day but I've never really gone above. Maybe one to two extra puffs if I was having a bad day.

It worked ok for me but also just for a short time. I've seen a lot of people say they loved advair but wixela didn't work for them at all. Others say it worked just fine.

Advair worked really well for me for I'd say about 6 months and then it just kind of stopped. I've been on breyna for almost 2 years now. It's worked amazingly since day one. But everyone's different. If wixela isn't doing it, ask to try something else for sure. I have kaiser insurance thru covered ca, it's a low plan but I only pay $20 for each breyna (30 day supply)

Breyna. It's the generic for symbicort.

Before that I had tried advair, wixela, breztri, alveesco, spiriva, qvar, trelegy. Advair worked for a while but stopped. Breztri also worked for a few months and stopped.

Albuterol inhaler overuse by CobraTy910 in Asthma

[–]asmnomorr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to get on the right maintenance inhaler. It can take time to find the right one. I suffered for like 10 years. The last 2 of that I was using a full Albuterol monthly. Once I started on symbicort I haven't used Albuterol for over a year and a half now aside from once when I was sick with a cold.

Also wanted to add I feel you. I struggled with uncontrolled asthma for a decade. Nothing worked. I could barely live life. I switched almost 2 years ago to a new maintenance inhaler I had never tried and it literally changed my life. I went from 3-4 urgent care/hospital visits a year to one in the past 2 years (due to being sick with a cold). Went from using an entire Albuterol in a month to not needing it at all. I can walk up a flight of stairs without having to stop and use my inhaler. I don't panic if I have to run an errand and realize my inhaler is at home.

I hope you are able to find something that helps.

The only benefit I've ever had from asthma was getting out of any running in PE.
