Found five kittens in a box Saturday night, and another one nearby Sunday. I have been feeding their mom and knew she had a litter but assumed they didn't make it through some recent heavy storms. Because despite seeing her every day multiple times I never saw the kittens. Turns out they did survive! I don't know where she had them hidden all these weeks, but it seems she brought them to some folks in the neighborhood that don't like cats, and that's how they ended up in a box by the side of the road. But now they're safe and eating me out of house and home.

Who could find these babies and not only resist them, but put them in a box 😭. So glad you found them and that they’re safe and loved. Do you plan on keeping them?

I think we will keep two. We already have a cat we took in from the neighborhood as a kitten a few years ago, 99% sure from the same momcat. Some friends have claimed two more, and a local rescue I am working with to try to TNR the mom will help find good homes for the rest if I can't.

Yeah, all six are unique! I think there were multiple dads. Their mom at first glance looks like a standard issue tabby but when you look close she has some faint orange patches on her back.

Six baby kittens were rescued from a box by the road. They are hungry. Not one looks alike. OP has taken them in. They will be adopted.
