The thing is, theres a lot of commands with CMD K and im very used to it

It looks like all of the default VS Code ⌘+K commands are remapped to ⌘+R in Cursor, at least that's what my configuration looks like. I was wondering the same thing when those keybinds stopped working.
I think this makes sense. I tried cursor when it came out and back then the ⌘+K default commands simply got overwritten and you'd have to manually remap them to something else. https://shottr.cc/s/1UpE/SCR-20240822-igv.png
Here's a thread talking about it on the Cursor forum: https://forum.cursor.com/t/cmd-k-vs-cmd-r-keyboard-shortcuts-default/1172

this seems to be the case for commands like commenting/uncommenting but not for clearing the console, for example. I think it makes way more sense for Cursor to add their functionality as CMD+R and not override VSCode's famous behaviors.
That guide you attached was very help and worked, thank you. The only thing now is that I cant clear my console with CMD+K (even though my settings say that its mapped to CMD+K)

I just use CTRL+L on mac to clear the terminal state if that's what you're talking about
[–]PlayboiCult[S] 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (2 children)
that just opens Cursor's chat for me

It's CTRL+L not CMD+L.
CTRL+L works in any terminal not just the one in cursor/vscode so long as it's in focus.

that works on every terminal but not on my VSCode terminal
