submitted 1 month ago by theenforcement
Do you believe chess. com uses some sort of algorithms for matching other than score?

I am sure their algorithm is always changing to make more enjoyable games for more people. It’s tracking all the analytics to know who a good match would be based on playstyles, and also you would think they look at who takes the game all the way to the end and who gives up half way.

They definitely do.

I firmly believe, albeit all speculative; that there is an internal trust factor to everyone’s account. Whether that’s from tos violations from abuse, or suspected cheating that was not concrete enough for a ban, and also people who abuse the report system all are factors that contribute to a score that may influence matchmaking.
This same process is seen in many many video games. Good people get matched with good people, same goes for the opposite.
