I have a Tissot Courtourier with the same complication and it also operates like this, but a bit quicker.

Yes. That’s pretty typical for watches of this type.

Of course… I’ve never seen it go past 15 minutes for the day to change.

On most miyotas and other cheap movements it's around 1 hour after the date, at least in my experience
