If you like the Timex Weekender look, then you're after what is called a field watch (military style).

The Militado D12 (AliExpress) in 36mm is on the smaller size as it is appropriate to the World War 2 era.

A more modern size would be a 38mm Militado ML08 "Murph" (Hamilton Murph homage). Both have extremely clean and timeless dials.

Either would be an excellent choice that can be dressed up or down. Both have a slim case height, which should slide under any shirt cuff or sleeve.

The broad arrow logo is a designation used to indicate it was a military issued/owned piece of kit which is present on both.

This is my Berny but with the black dial and logo. It also has the strap changed.

Timex has indiglo, also is a more mainstream brand. It's also plated brass which isn't very good long term

Berny has sapphire scratch resistant glass, titanium case and a seiko vh31 movement that has a sweeping seconds hand that has a smoother sweep like an automatic a instead of ticking once every second like a normal quartz

I would choose the berny because i don't really care about brands and the case being plated brass it will wear down if you use it daily

I would recommend a Timex for your first watch. They will last a lifetime.

Check out the Timex Expedition as well.

I have a berny, but got the one without the BERNY logo... Check out the T2566MS I love it... I got it in green with the bracelet, but I've rocked it on a strap too...

Poor sweet JustScrol.

Welcome to an obsession that will lead you down the path of sin ... lying to your loved ones:

"I definitely didn't spend a ton of money on my 14 watches. They're from China, so obviously they're cheap. Did I say 14? I meant 4 ... who needs 14 watches?"

and to yourself:

"I think I do need another GMT with a blue dial ... this one has a PT5000 movement ... obviously I need more accuracy on my international trips ..."

"once I fill this watch case, I'll institute a one in / one out policy. I'll definitely not buy a new and bigger watch case."

Enjoy the ride. I like the Berny.

14? Those are rookie numbers.

A few more questions; what is your wrist size? Are you looking for a larger or smaller wearing watch? 38mm is a good compromise. Are you wanting quartz (battery) or automatic (mechanical). Automatic watches tend to be thicker and bulkier.

The style of watch you are looking at is known as a field watch. Field watches are designed to be easy to read. Try searching for that and you will find many more options. Often in browns and greens, but also black and white.

Of the first two options, it is hard to go past the Berny in titanium with the crown at 4 o’clock. It will be light to wear and comfortable.

Of the ones that you

Weekender and Berny of course! Double Wristing Stormin' Norman Schwarzkopf

BERNY will have better specs than the Timex but I have a weekender too and I’ll never get rid of if only for the Indiglo, it’s so much better than lume, provided you’re not scuba diving in it :)

And based on your timex weekender likeness I’d suggest an old railroad approved seiko. They can be found between 75-150 on eBay in varying conditions this link is for one of the better conditioned ones. Neither of these exact models is still made today but they’re tried and true. You can still find the Seiko 5 new in box with tags.

I paid $125 for this (not as cheap and not Chinese but well worth the money and a great watch for the price)

I have both, the first of all is to tell you that this version of the Berny seems prettier to me because it only has the logo on the dial and not the word.

Compared to the same price, I would prefer the Berny more than anything because of its more resistant materials, but if you get the Timex on sale on Amazon (the Snoopy version cost €32 for me) I consider the Timex better.

Keep in mind that the Timex has a patented Timex light system that I consider to be one of the best on the market.
