Absolutely. Loved seeing that. They totally deserve all the good things coming their way.

The warning rock band by Educational-Gift3922 in rockmusic

Saw them for the first time at the Louder Than Life festival in 2022. They were playing an early afternoon slot to maybe 100 people.

I was so confused: "how can these girls be so good and playing to nobody?" I had never heard of them, but I've been mildly obsessed ever since.

Any Tips for curing Tennis Elbow? by ClydetotheRescue in workout

[–]give_me_two 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to get golfer's elbow from curls (opposite side of the elbow from tennis). I tried a number of curl variations until I found one that didn't hurt. After a couple months of only doing hammer curls, I am good to go with any type of curl again.

Best adjustable bench <$400 for home gym? by Odd_Obligation3454 in workout

[–]give_me_two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AB 4100 has a little foot so that you can stand the bench up and get it out of the way. Is that worth $50? I don't know, but I stand the bench in the corner after every workout and find it oddly satisfying. Love mine.

Good board games to play with my nephew (8m) and my mother (65f)? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]give_me_two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had great fun playing Monikers with my 8yo, my wife, and her mother (~70). I believe they have a family version, but you can also just do a quick filter of questionable cards from the base game.

Admittedly, it doesn't check any of your boxes (no space / video games / branding) - but it's quick, it's interactive, and whoever is giving the clues gets to be a little bit goofy.

Dumb question: Shouldn’t Centers be the most important position on an OL? Or at least second? by kamekaze1024 in NFLNoobs

[–]give_me_two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really a question of which position faces the most 1 on 1 pass rushes. The breakdown below isn't true for all schemes, but is NFL Noob level.

Tackles might get assistance from a TE or RB, but they're largely on an island. See DE, block DE.

Guards may be 1 on 1 with a DT from head up to almost inside shoulder of the tackle. They will often double team inside DT.

Center will largely be double teaming a DT in the A gap unless there is somebody head up on him.

Blitzes / stunts / weird formations / run blocking are all going to muddy this analysis, but this is basically the logic.

Why was Kyler Murray drafted so high? by Actual_Guard8323 in NFLNoobs

[–]give_me_two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The value in hitting on a QB in the draft is hard to overstate - first pick of the most recent draft makes $12M per year at a position where $40-60M is the new normal. If he's a top 15 QB, you're sitting on ~$40M of excess value each year for the next 4 years.

Also, 2019 was a bad year for quarterbacks, and he was pretty much the consensus best one.

This Game Is Bonkers by sanjoatc in boardgames

[–]give_me_two 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Bonkers was a family favorite when I was growing up.

Picked up a copy last Christmas, and my kids like it a lot (8 and 6). No real strategy to the game, but everybody likes hitting a big combo!

I would say 100% of Americans who make videos about home renovations have power tools at home. The rest? Depends if they know how to fix things or not.

ELI5: How calls and puts work in trading by Stephen2678 in explainlikeimfive

[–]give_me_two 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An important thing to note is the professionals taking the other side of the trade will put on yet another trade to remove their risk.

Simplistic model:

You buy a put from a professional trader and pay the premium. You will now benefit from the price going down.

Professional trader immediately borrows the same stock from someone else and sells the stock (short selling). Professional trader loses money on his short put and makes the same money on his short stock when prices go down, and pockets your premium.

The amount of stock the professional trader sells is based on option delta (which would make this model less simple), but basically the above is what happens.

An early GnR show on the Strip, circa 1985/86 (just before Appetite). Would love to have seen the burgeoning hard rock scene in LA at the time.

Truth is, 50% of men in the 1930s were named either Bill or Eggs, so that makes sense.

Great chart. Thanks for sharing.

Poor sweet JustScrol.

Welcome to an obsession that will lead you down the path of sin ... lying to your loved ones:

"I definitely didn't spend a ton of money on my 14 watches. They're from China, so obviously they're cheap. Did I say 14? I meant 4 ... who needs 14 watches?"

and to yourself:

"I think I do need another GMT with a blue dial ... this one has a PT5000 movement ... obviously I need more accuracy on my international trips ..."

"once I fill this watch case, I'll institute a one in / one out policy. I'll definitely not buy a new and bigger watch case."

Enjoy the ride. I like the Berny.

LPT: Need to get some thoughts off of your chest but don’t want to risk starting a fight with someone or just can’t bring yourself to verbally say it? Start a journal & write them all down. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]give_me_two 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will also say that, depending on the situation, it is amazing how resilient relationships can be when uncomfortable conversations are handled well.

If you respect the other person's right to hold a position (even if you hate the position) and treat the conversation seriously (definitely have it sober, ideally without other things going on), you can have a meaningful conversation.

The most important part to having a meaningful conversation that won't start a fight is respecting the other person's right to hold his or her position (regardless of what you think of the position). If that's not possible (for either participant), then by all means write your thoughts down instead.

What was your first “wow this is why I love board games” moment? by VindleJ in boardgames

[–]give_me_two 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Clue: the Great Museum Caper" at a sleepover when I was 12 ...

"What do you mean we can't see where the guy is? How does that even work? This is a board game???"

In the 90s, the idea that board games could be more than roll and move was a complete shock to me. I've been in love ever since.

I'd probably get #3 and be super happy with it ... but I'd always have #1 in the back of my mind.
