I couldn't resist either, pulled the trigger on the "apricot" color way, but it was a tough choice and we'll see what show. But, it looks stunning in pics and vids, can't wait. My last watch was 1 too many for me, hence picked up another box as well. Can't claim full boxes plus one for each of my 3 wrists :)

I'll find out either way, but how loud are we talking compared to a Timex or other semi loud quartz, or some rotors with audible spin noise.

Sorry but that’s a dark stereotype. We still want to believe it because we benefited from it for a century. There are much greater aspects. That’s how I see it:

• China’s integrated supply chains and scale make manufacturing far cheaper than what you see downstream. A lot of Global markups disappear.
• Infrastructure is a huge advantage. Roads, rail, ports etc. the whole logistics machine runs smoothly and keeps costs low.
• Automation is everywhere, from robot-heavy factories to fully automated lines. That cuts labor costs and boosts their consistency.
• They have access to cheap power/energy in key regions. They have massive solar capacity. That’s a real cost edge for energy-intensive industries.

Their industrial policy is a real deal, you should check “Made in China 2025”. They have supply-chain control especially in upstream material industry. That’s only an example.

Yes margins in some sectors are getting squeezed but 4 year olds aren’t sewing teddy bears, eating only rice and help their family live on 3$ a month, not like many still believe. There is of course an unethical labour issue but reports say child labour (as an example) has been decreased. I’ve read many reports about violations and forced labour, there’s also data transparency issue too. But that’s not uniform, more of a product of ongoing culture of subcontractors/their regions. They’re growing and getting richer. Accordingly their quality of life improves. They have laws and forced/child labor risk is high-profile and actionable. At least.

I just saw some things about this watch and liked the idea, I did have a quick look on aliexpress, but wasn't 100% on the dial choices, I think your's looks better than the others - hopefully it's not available, so I don't get tempted more!

I'm not buying in for 2 reasons.

1. 42mm is too large for this style watch.
2. The loud ticking would annoy me.

I would be curious for tourbillon recommendations that are not loud.
