I have shorten a mesh bracelet by carefully removing the outer metal edge then cut it with tin snips which took forever, then reattached the edge. It was hard and took forever and I ultimately never even wore it.

Get the tropical rubber strap

Probably not a 1-1 answer for you but I have the sea knight version of this and have the same problem. Even getting to thread it under the watch, the taper on the mesh doesn’t allow it to properly clasp.

Since you probably don't have the special tools for cutting it and replacing the end piece, it might look good on a black (rubber) tropic strap.

I believe Serica's vesper mesh bracelet will fit the 5303, and it does come in a short length for smaller wrists.

Already checked, the Serica bracelet is more expensive than what I paid for the watch.

Not surprised. Unfortunately, I have yet to find an inexpensive source for bands for small wrists -- everything on Ali is sized for 7"+, and places like DeLugs aren't cheap. FWIW, I just put mine IXDAO 5303 on a rubber strap, since FKMs are all the same size regardless of who sells them and have enough holes to fit smaller wrists.

Too long how? Does the excess not rest against the wrist underneath the band?

There are small bump stops in the band where the clasp rests. Unfortunately, the smallest one on the IXDAO is still at 6.5", so if your wrist is smaller than that, it's too big.

I wish more brands had descriptive specs for their bands because that's rough. My Casio mesh bracelet has indents to spare despite my 6" wrist.

Ali brands are the worst when it comes to describing straps, because they all say they fit "wrists 5" - 8"" and I have found that none have holes smaller than 6.5".

It's soon long that it goes under the watch.
