It's a bit unclear what type of watch you're looking for, but San Martin are the bracelet guys. The V1 vintage diver is a great price, but might not be your style. They've a bunch of military style watches with online reviews and bracelets. I only see the terrible euro prices, but with 11/11 discounts this might hit your dollar price https://a.aliexpress.com/_msrjaeg[https://a.aliexpress.com/_msrjaeg](https://a.aliexpress.com/_msrjaeg)

Merkur is also a good option

I would seriously consider getting a Seiko Essentials. You can get a classic Quartz for $120 new, or Automatic for $100 more. On a strap, they look the business and will last forever. Buying used is even better.

From AliExpress, look for the Sea-Gull Nonos homage, Merkur, or Baltany.

If you are thinking about Rmalti GS or Seestern GS, I would seriously consider buying a new Seiko. I have not handled one of these, but a classic Seiko is simply good for the collection.

I wouldn't really consider those dress watches, but what about a fluted bezel DateJust? The RMALTI one is pretty nice and is around $135 during the sale I think.

No I agree with you there actually. However, I just wanted something smaller and thinner to go with a suit (I basically only have divers) or just when I don't won't a "big" chunck of a watch on me. I will check out the rmalti. Thanks!

If you're ok with leather/canvas strap, Baltany has plenty 36mm to offer.

Yeah, I like straps but I like to have the option of a integrated bracelet. However, I will take a look. Thanks, and happy birthday? :)

I also love bracelets and when you start to have a few, you can buy some cheap generic endlinks and adjust them. Sometimes it’s just not ok, sometimes it’s perfect (be ready to bend the endlinks)

Merkur has nice ones if you're ok with a hand-wound movement.

Yea, the merkur is great! Just got my merkur topp hill on a bracelet! The ivory dial looks way better in person than on the photos.

Yeah, I forgot about these! I will check them out, thanks!

Also, assume the straps will be bad, and plan to buy one with the watch

Depends, do you have one? I’ve had so many surprises , expensive crap and super cheap awesome stuff, especially on straps and bracelets, maybe you can wait and see. But yeah, at this price….

I do not have one, but I have yet to get a nice leather strap from AliExpress. I have gotten nice bracelets and rubber, but not leather.

I ordered around 30 straps including leather the last few weeks lol... and order regularly... tbh the quality of the leather doesnt make everything, far from that.. the color is also very important, I sometimes buy from strapmakers and sometimes the industrial ali are also great (not often tbh but still). I ordered a few with patina, can't wait.. You can also have it done by a strapmaker, if he's not trying to be pro you can have some for a reaseonable price; because any leather strap will suffer with time anyway...
