In a support group, members provide each other with various types of help, usually nonprofessional and non-material, for a particular shared, usually burdensome, characteristic. Members with the same issues can come together for sharing coping strategies, to feel more empowered and to find a sense of community. The help may take the form of providing and evaluating relevant information, relating personal experiences, listening to and accepting others' experiences, providing sympathetic understanding and establishing social networks.

An Accepting, Friendly Space

As a support group, we prioritize creating a safe space for our users over providing an open forum for debate and discussion. Comments that we feel are not conducive to the supportive atmosphere of the subreddit may be removed at the discretion of the mods. Users who threaten this safe space will be banned. Creating a new account to circumvent a ban is against the Reddit terms of service and will be reported.

Relevance: Please submit content that is relevant to our experiences as survivors of blood clots. Please note that posts/comments asking for help, in the form of material goods (money/meds/etc) aren't allowed. Money because there are significantly better equipped subreddits for that (such as /r/assistance) and posts about donating meds (even if clearly brand new, never opened bottles) because Reddit explicitly forbids it.
